Trajectory Optimisation for UAV Data Collection in IoT‐Based WSN: A Lévy Flight‐Based Approach

open access: yesIET Smart Cities, Volume 8, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
In large‐scale IoT and WSN deployments, data transmission to base stations is often limited by restricted network coverage, and drones can help extend connectivity by collecting data from cluster head nodes. This work proposes an energy‐efficient drone‐assisted data collection approach that jointly optimises system costs and energy consumption, taking ...

Latency Improvement Strategies for Reliability-Aware Scheduling in Industrial Wireless Sensor Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2015
We propose novel strategies for end-to-end reliability-aware scheduling in Industrial Wireless Sensor Networks (IWSNs). Because of stringent reliability requirements in industrial applications where missed packets may have disastrous or lethal ...

A simulation-based algorithm for solving the resource-assignment problem in satellite telecommunication networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper proposes an heuristic for the scheduling of capacity requests and the periodic assignment of radio resources in geostationary (GEO) satellite networks with star topology, using the Demand Assigned Multiple Access (DAMA) protocol in the link ...

A Systematic Review of VANET Routing Protocols for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITSs)

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Transportation, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
The swift improvement of wireless communication technology has aided the creation of vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) as a revolutionary option for the realization of intelligent transportation systems (ITSs). VANETs facilitate seamless communication between vehicles and infrastructure (V2I) and among the vehicles themselves (V2V). These networks can

A Systematic Literature Review on Auction Mechanisms: Insights From the Last Decade and Future Directions

open access: yesJournal of Economic Surveys, Volume 39, Issue 5, Page 1971-1998, December 2025.
ABSTRACT This study reports the results of a systematic literature review on auctions mechanism. Auctions are a very popular practice employed in many fields but does not exist a research that investigates the use of auctions under a cross‐disciplinary approach. This work is focused on analyzing which are the areas where auctions are mostly adopted and

Thermal Resistance of 1D Micron‐Wide Interface Under External Force Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 12, Issue 22, November 22, 2025.
A novel TET‐based technique is developed to characterize the interfacial thermal resistance at the microscale. The interfacial thermal resistance is measured at ≈1200–1400 mK/W for natural contact. Externally applied force reduces the thermal resistance dramatically down to ≈125 mK/W.
