A subset of CyberShake ground-motion time series for response-history analysis
Earthquake Spectra, 2021This manuscript describes a subset of CyberShake numerically simulated ground motions that were selected and vetted for use in engineering response-history analyses. Ground motions were selected that have seismological properties and response spectra representative of conditions in the Los Angeles area, based on disaggregation of seismic hazard ...

Seismic Time History Response Analysis of Maleo Producer
Proceedings of Offshore Technology Conference, 2008Abstract The Maleo Producer is a converted Bethlehem JU 250 (1970's design) mat-supported jack-up that is currently operating as a gas production platform in the Madura Straits, offshore Indonesia. The field is located in a seismically active region. This paper summarizes the procedures used to assess the structural

Structural Time History Response Analysis of Bidirectional Seismic Input
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2011In this paper, 6 eccentric structural models are selected as examples, a great many elastic earthquake response analyses are carried out. The biggest action effect which an earthquake brings about when acting in one direction along certain angle is found out, and is defined as a normal value.

Time–Frequency Analysis (TFA) techniques help to obtain the ideal time and frequency occurrence characteristics of earthquake motion confined in a seismic recorded signal. Time-histories from recording stations in Japan has been adopted in the present analysis, considering a large number of available data.

Post-earthquake Emergency Response and Recovery Through City-Scale Nonlinear Time-History Analysis
2021The city-scale nonlinear THA can also be used to evaluate the extent of the emergency response and recovery after an earthquake. This chapter firstly proposes a real-time earthquake damage assessment using recorded ground motions and city-scale nonlinear THA, which can significantly reduce the uncertainties of the ground motion inputs.

Accuracy of Shock Response in Time History Analysis
Seismic Engineering, Volume 1, 2004A very small time step may be needed in the solution of the shock response from an impulse. In fact, this time step might be much smaller than the time step to have accurate representation of the impulse and negligible period distortion. It will be proved that the discontinuity in external force at the end of an impulse is responsible for this ...

Analytical Exploration of the Time History Analysis of Shock Response
Seismic Engineering, Volume 1, 2002It was experienced that a very small time step may be needed in the solution of the shock response from an impulse. In fact, this time step might be much smaller than the time step to have accurate representation of the impulse and negligible period distortion.
