Pulmonary artery catheter placement in patients with a history of tricuspid ring annuloplasty, with pulmonary stenosis, and with the transvenous pacemaker leads: is it difficult?

open access: yesJA Clinical Reports, 2018
Purpose Previous case reports suggested that the presence of obstruction in the passage of the pulmonary artery catheter (PAC) may hinder its placement.

Oxygen‐Tunnel Indium Tin Oxide Vertical Channel Transistors with Enhanced Current Density and Reliability for Monolithic 3D Compute‐In‐Memory Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oxygen‐tunnel (OT) indium tin oxide (ITO) vertical channel transistors (VCTs) enable reliable, high‐density gain‐cell memory for monolithic 3D integration. A sandwiched SiN/SiO2/SiN OT stack selectively regulates oxygen transport, suppressing parasitic electrode oxidation while stabilizing channel oxygen vacancies, thereby suppressing carrier injection

Single-pulse and multipulse longitudinal phase space and temperature measurements of an intense ion beam

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 2012
Longitudinal phase space and temperature measurements were conducted on a 2–3  μs long, singly charged K^{+} ion bunch with an ion energy of ∼0.3  MeV and current of 30 mA. The principal objective of these experiments was to measure the longitudinal beam

Irradiation‐Induced Spin Bath Evolution and as‐Grown Hydrogen Defects in CVD Diamond Revealed by NV‐Based DEER Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Here, we provide the reader with the current state of the art in the fabrication of high‐T2‐coherence diamond, optimized through the use of double electron–electron resonance (DEER) spectroscopy. We reveal the main as well as yet unidentified spin defects, the reduction of which is essential for reducing the spin bath and fabricating materials for ...

Historical Foundation and Practical Guideline for Ferroelectric Switching Kinetic Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The P and U pulses in the conventional PUND measurements are not identical because of the interplay between switching current and the measurement circuit components. This circuit effect can lead to a shift in polarization transients and misinterpreted physics in the switching kinetics.

Concussion case classification based on brain strain waveforms using dynamic time warping and cluster analysis

open access: yesJournal of Biomechanical Science and Engineering
In sports, concussion prevention measures require the development of concussion evaluation criteria for improved head protective gear or early intervention through impact measurement in the field.

Polarization‐Dependent Synaptic‐Like Electro‐Optical Response in Ferroelectric Nematic Liquid Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric nematic liquid crystals (FNLCs) offer fast, tunable polarization and low‐voltage operation but suffer from poor polarization retention at zero field. Semiconductor‐modified FNLCs enhance polarization retention and exhibit short‐ and long‐term electro‐optical responses, while also supporting spike‐type signal integrations.

Biomimetic Microfractals Based Flexible Triboelectric Nanogenerators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A leaf‐skeleton‐based microfractal architecture is integrated with guided CuNW networks and biomimetic triboelectric polymer layers, enabling breathable, flexible, and material‐efficient triboelectric nanogenerators. The resulting system combines enhanced charge generation and charge transport, offering potential for next‐generation self‐powered ...

Diaphragmatic ultrasonography parameters during waveform-defined double triggering asynchrony in mechanically ventilated critically ill patients

open access: yesThe Egyptian Journal of Bronchology
Background Double triggering asynchrony happens when a single inspiratory effort causes two consecutive breaths due to an extended inspiratory neural time. This is a type of patient-ventilator asynchrony (PVA).
