Multi-Time Interval Forecasting-Aided State Estimation Incorporating Phasor Measurements for Power Systems with Renewable Energy Sources

open access: yesCSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems
To achieve more precise monitoring of state fluctuations in the power network close to renewable energy sources, it is necessary to utilize phasor measurements and shorten the time interval between state estimations.

EWMA Chart and Measurement Error

open access: yes
Measurement error is a usually met distortion factor in real-world applications that influences the outcome of a process. In this paper, we examine the effect of measurement error on the ability of the EWMA control chart to detect out-of-control ...

Systolic peak foot-to-apex time interval, a novel oscillometric technique for systolic blood pressure measurement

open access: yes, 2017
International audienceBACKGROUND:Noninvasive blood pressure (BP) measurement is essential for the study of human physiology but automatic oscillometric devices only estimate SBP and DBP using various, undisclosed algorithms, precluding standardization ...

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

The effect of feeding and visiting behavior on methane and hydrogen emissions of dairy cattle measured with the GreenFeed system under different dietary conditions

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science
: The objectives were to investigate the effect of feeding and visiting behavior of dairy cattle on CH4 and H2 production measured with voluntary visits to the GreenFeed system (GF) and to determine whether these effects depended on basal diet (BD) and 3-

Low cost automated precise time measurement system

open access: yes, 1973
The Aerospace Guidance and Metrology Center (AGMC) has the responsibility for the dissemination of Precise Time and Time Interval (PTTI) to Air Force timing systems requiring microsecond time. In order to maintain traceability to the USNO Master Clock in

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Single way fiber based time transfer with active detection of time transfer variations

open access: yes, 2010
With an increasing demand for distributing accurate time, preferably accessible in real time, better techniques for time transfer is needed. The inevitable variations in the time transfer delay must be detected and compensated for, if an absolute ...

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...
