Refined Composite Multivariate Multiscale Fractional Fuzzy Entropy: Measuring the Dynamical Complexity of Multichannel Financial Data

open access: yesComplexity, 2021
Refined composite multivariate multiscale fractional fuzzy entropy (RCmvMFFE), which aims to sensitively discriminate different short noisy multichannel financial data, is proposed as a new measure to quantify the complexity dynamics of multichannel time

Discrepancies Between Micro Versus Macroscale Viscoelastic Properties in a Microplastic‐Tissue Composite Model

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the discrepancies between bulk mechanics and spatial mapping in a tissue‐mimetic hydrogel model. Microplastic particles create localized stiff mechanical microenvironments that are detectable by cellular‐scale nanoindentation but leave bulk properties unchanged as measured by rheology.

Combination of R-R Interval and Crest Time in Assessing Complexity Using Multiscale Cross-Approximate Entropy in Normal and Diabetic Subjects

open access: yesEntropy, 2018
The present study aimed at testing the hypothesis that application of multiscale cross-approximate entropy (MCAE) analysis in the study of nonlinear coupling behavior of two synchronized time series of different natures [i.e., R-R interval (RRI) and ...

Entropy‐Driven Design of Low‐Melting‐Point Alloys via Compositionally Complex Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Conventional low‐melting‐point alloys (LMPAs) are limited by a narrow compositional space and inherent property trade‐offs. This review presents an entropy‐driven design strategy that overcomes these limitations, ushering in a new class of low‐melting‐point compositionally complex alloys (LMCCAs).

Multiscale expansion and integrability properties of the lattice potential KdV equation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We apply the discrete multiscale expansion to the Lax pair and to the first few symmetries of the lattice potential Korteweg-de Vries equation. From these calculations we show that, like the lowest order secularity conditions give a nonlinear Schrödinger

Multiscale scanning with nuisance parameters

open access: yes, 2023
We investigate the problem to find anomalies in a $d$-dimensional random field via multiscale scanning in the presence of nuisance parameters. This covers the common situation that either the baseline-level or additional parameters such as the variance ...

High‐Entropy Alloy Interlayers Toward Advanced Joining for High‐Performance Structural Applications: Current Progress and Emerging Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
HEA interlayers offer a versatile route for joining high‐performance structural materials. Their compositional and structural design regulates interfacial reactions, suppresses brittle IMCs, and improves metallurgical bonding. Sandwich interlayers further integrate defect healing with precipitation strengthening, enabling improved strength–ductility ...

Convolutional Neural Networks With Class-Driven Loss for Multiscale VHR Remote Sensing Image Classification

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Because land covers always have different scales, multiscale methods are widely used in very-high-resolution (VHR) remote sensing image classification. Traditional multiscale methods usually capture multiscale information by using rectangular windows of ...

Rule-based controlling of a multiscale model of precipitation kinetics [PDF]

open access: yesComputer Methods in Materials Science, 2018
One of the most important obstacles of widening of multiscale modelling is its high computational demand. It is caused by the fact, that each of numerous fine scale models has comparable computational requirements to a coarse scale one. There are several

Electrocapillary Modulated Interfacial Tension Amplifies Liquid Metal Transduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presented an electrocapillary‐enhanced magnetohydrodynamic pumping strategy that harnesses the Lorentz force and interfacial tension modulation of liquid metal droplets to achieve amplified fluidic power. The system enabled low‐voltage, self‐oscillating fluidic transduction with enhanced pressure and flow generation, supporting compact ...
