The Convolution on Time Scales [PDF]
The main theme in this paper is an initial value problem containing a dynamic version of the transport equation. Via this problem, the delay (or shift) of a function defined on a time scale is introduced, and the delay in turn is used to introduce the convolution of two functions defined on the time scale.

Time‐scale transformations of discrete time processes [PDF]
Abstract. This paper investigates the effects of temporal aggregation when the aggregation frequency is variable and possibly stochastic. The results that we report include, as a particular case, the well‐known results on fixed‐interval aggregation, such as when monthly data are aggregated into quarters.

Irreversibility time scale [PDF]
Entropy creation rate is introduced for a system interacting with thermostats (i.e., for a system subject to internal conservative forces interacting with “external” thermostats via conservative forces) and a fluctuation theorem for it is proved. As an application, a time scale is introduced, to be interpreted as the time over which irreversibility ...

Canonical time-frequency, time-scale, and frequency-scale representations of time-varying channels [PDF]
Mobile communication channels are often modeled as linear time-varying filters or, equivalently, as time-frequency integral operators with finite support in time and frequency. Such a characterization inherently assumes the signals are narrowband and may not be appropriate for wideband signals.

Almost Periodic Time Scales and Almost Periodic Functions on Time Scales [PDF]
We propose some new concepts of almost periodic time scales and almost periodic functions on time scales and give some basic properties of these new types of almost periodic time scales and almost periodic functions on time scales. We also give some comments on a recent paper by Wang and Agarwal (2014) concerning a new almost periodic time scale.

A Hierarchy of Time-Scales and the Brain
In this paper, we suggest that cortical anatomy recapitulates the temporal hierarchy that is inherent in the dynamics of environmental states. Many aspects of brain function can be understood in terms of a hierarchy of temporal scales at which representations of the environment evolve. The lowest level of this hierarchy corresponds to fast fluctuations

Mathematica Applications on Time Scales [PDF]
Stefan Hilger introduced the calculus on time scales in order to unify continuous and discrete analysis in 1988. The study of dynamic equations is an active area of research since time scales unifies both discrete and continuous processes, besides many others.
