Multivariate epidemic count time series model
An infectious disease spreads not only over a single population or community but also across multiple and heterogeneous communities. Moreover, its transmissibility varies over time because of various factors such as seasonality and epidemic control, which results in strongly nonstationary behavior. In conventional methods for assessing transmissibility

ABSTRACT Background Loneliness is associated with adverse physical and mental health outcomes and remains understudied in children and adolescents undergoing cancer therapy. Pediatric oncology patients may be at increased risk due to medical isolation and disruption of social networks.

INARMA Modeling of Count Time Series [PDF]
While most of the literature about INARMA models (integer-valued autoregressive moving-average) concentrates on the purely autoregressive INAR models, we consider INARMA models that also include a moving-average part. We study moment properties and show how to efficiently implement maximum likelihood estimation.

ABSTRACT Rates of cancer among adolescents and young adults (AYA), age 15–39 years, are increasing. Consequently, radiation oncologists are treating more AYAs who have diagnoses spanning both pediatric and adult practices. Compared to pediatric and older adult patients, AYAs face a unique set of challenges.

ABSTRACT Background Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (alloHSCT) is an essential therapy for several malignant and nonmalignant diseases, but relapse and graft loss remain the principal threats to its success. Routine monitoring of chimerism and minimal residual disease (MRD) enables early detection of imminent recurrence and guides ...

Pediatric Idiopathic Multicentric Castleman Disease Is Often Severe But Responsive to Siltuximab
ABSTRACT Background Idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (iMCD) is a potentially fatal immunologic disorder marked by widespread lymphadenopathy and inflammation. Siltuximab, an interleukin‐6 (IL‐6) inhibitor, is the only FDA‐approved treatment for adult patients with iMCD.

ABSTRACT Background Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is a recognized trigger of immune thrombocytopenia (ITP); however, its incidence and impact on disease course in children remain controversial. Therefore, we aimed to characterize the clinical course of pediatric patients with CMV‐associated ITP.

Characteristics of daily foraging activity of Camponotus japonicus via time series analysis.
Social insects often share tasks among individuals. In this study, we analyzed the foraging activity of ants (Camponotus japonicus) and recorded the daily passage event counts of individual workers between a nest chamber and a foraging arena in five ...

ABSTRACT Pediatric intramedullary low‐grade gliomas (PIMLGGs) are rare neoplasms that present unique clinical and management challenges. Although surgery remains the primary tool for tissue diagnosis and decompression, complete gross‐total resection is frequently unfeasible due to the infiltrative nature of these lesions.
