Interpretation: Time, Timing, Loss, and Recovery in the Analytic Hour
Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association, 2023Interpretation remains relevant in contemporary psychoanalysis and serves a crucial linking function between patient and analyst. Interpretation provides an important link with temporalities: the time of the analytic hour and the time of the patient’s history as it unfolds in the present. Analysis, it is argued, is bounded by time and loss.

On the symbol timing recovery in space-time coding systems
2003 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking, 2003. WCNC 2003., 2004Space-time coding has received considerable interest recently as a simple transmit diversity technique for improving the capacity and data rate of a channel without bandwidth expansion. Most research work in space-time coding, however, assumed that the symbol timing at the receiver is perfectly known.

Anubis: Ultra-Low Overhead and Recovery Time for Secure Non-Volatile Memories
International Symposium on Computer Architecture, 2019Implementing secure Non-Volatile Memories (NVMs) is challenging, mainly due to the necessity to persist security metadata along with data. Unlike conventional secure memories, NVM-equipped systems are expected to recover data after crashes and hence ...

From Catastrophe to Recovery: Stories of Fishery Management Success
From Catastrophe to Recovery: Stories of Fishery Management Success, 2019.â€â€Saginaw Bay is a large coolwater region of Lake Huron and Walleye Sander vitreus is the apex predator. From the time of first settlement to the mid-1940s, the bay’s Walleye population was the target of a loosely regulated commercial ...

A Reinforced Urn Process Modeling of Recovery Rates and Recovery Times
SSRN Electronic Journal, 2017Answering a major demand in modern credit risk management, we propose a nonparametric survival approach for the modeling of the recovery rate and the recovery time of a defaulted counterparty, by introducing what we call the Recovery Reinforced Urn Process, a special type of combinatorial stochastic process. The new model allows for the elicitation and

Time varying sparse support recovery
Signal Processing, 2019Abstract In the applications like spatial modulation in multi-antenna systems, multi-user detection in sensor networks and massive random access in machine to machine communications, the set of nodes which transmit data to the receiver varies with time.
