Continuous geodetic time transfer analysis method

Proceedings of the 2004 IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium and Exposition, 2004., 2005
We address two issues that limit the quality of time and frequency transfer by carrier phase measurements from the Global Positioning System (GPS). The first issue is related to inconsistencies between code and phase observations. We describe and classify several types of events that can cause inconsistencies and observe that some of them are related ...

Timely Admits, Transfers, and Discharges

Nursing Management (Springhouse), 1999
Nurse managers implemented a critical care patient coordinator program that's improved patient flow, staffing, and problem identification. The hospital has increased the new department from 7 to 12 critical care nurses and applied the program to other units.

Time transfer and TAI

Proceedings of the 2000 IEEE/EIA International Frequency Control Symposium and Exhibition (Cat. No.00CH37052), 2002
The American Global Positioning System (GPS) has served the principal needs of national timing laboratories for regular comparisons of remote atomic clocks for the last two decades. Single-channel GPS C/A-code common-view time transfer is, however, barely sufficient for comparison of today's atomic clocks within a few days, and certainly not sufficient

Transfer times across the human body

The Bulletin of Mathematical Biophysics, 1972
The radioactivity disappearance curves of glucose-6-14C albumin-I131 after a single injection of tracer into a human subject have been determined in detail, particularly at early time intervals. The curves, expressed as sums of exponentials, have been analyzed as the infinite sum of convolutions of single passage time densities.

T2L2 - Time transfer by Laser link: a new optical time transfer generation

Experimental Astronomy, 1997
The T2L2 experiment allows the synchronisation of remote clocks on Earth, and the monitoring of a satellite clock with an accuracy in the 50 ps range. It is based on the propagation of light pulses in space which is better controlled than the radio waves propagation.

Meteor Time Transfer and Meteor Cryptography

2007 IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium Joint with the 21st European Frequency and Time Forum, 2007
We show that peculiar properties of meteor wave propagation allow construction of radio channel that may deliver transfer of data with theoretically perfect protection from eavesdropping. Method uses natural stochastic process that is generated only for two communicating participants so that it is not available for possible cryptanalysis.

Multiple Embryo Transfers: Time for Policy

Hastings Center Report, 2010
The birth of eight children to Nadya Suleman led to an outcry over the common practice in assisted reproduction of transferring multiple embryos to a woman's uterus. The practice increases the chances of a live birth, but also raises the likelihood of multiple births, with their risks and costs.

On transfer times in tracer experiments

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1973
Abstract A compartment is defined as a pool of material whose behavior can be described by a deterministic or by a stochastic equation; these two equations are used to define the transit time through the compartment, the total residence time , the time of entrance and the time of exit .
