The livestock sector seeks to improve the productivity of meat, milk and rusticity, through crosses, which has led to deterioration of racial lines, impact on the decline in quality and quantity of production, and directly influencing profitability. Currently the biotechnological advances propose to improve the production levels of a cattle company ...

Genomic Structural Variations Provide Insights Into Litter Size and Teat Number Traits in Hu Sheep
Here, we conducted whole genome sequencing on 300 Hu sheep with an average depth of 16.51X. Two candidate genes associated with litter size and teat number traits were identified, namely MAST2 and AFDN. ABSTRACT Litter size and the teat number are important economic indicators in sheep production.

Estrous Synchronization and Fixed-Time Artificial Insemination
The economic success of beef cow-calf operations depends on the production of one healthy calf per cow per year. To achieve this goal, cow-calf producers need to overcome several obstacles related to the cow, bull, and offspring. Over the last four decades, several advances in reproductive biotechnologies, such as artificial insemination (AI ...

A population‐scale longitudinal transcriptomic atlas reveals how lactation stage and parity reshape systemic gene regulation in dairy cows. Multiomics‐inspired analyses uncover dynamic immune and metabolic adaptations that contribute to reproductive longevity and sustained productivity across the bovine lifespan.

Fertility response in postpartum anoestrus buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis) using modified Ovsynch based timed insemination protocols [PDF]
Background and Aim: Suboestrus constitutes the largest factor responsible for poor reproductive efficiency in buffaloes. Therefore, oestrus synchronization (OS) and fixed-time artificial insemination (AI) is considered an alternative approach to enhance ...

ATTEMPTS TO DETERMINE THE OPTIMAL TIME OF ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION IN HEIFERS [PDF]
Agricultural Institute, Grange, Dunsany, Co. Meath, Ireland (Received 2nd May 1974) To be ultimately successful, techniques used to control the oestrous cycle of the cow will have to embody methods which allow the time of insemination to be arranged without reference to behavioural oestrus.
