Plasma Timolol in glaucoma Patients

Ophthalmology, 1984
Plasma timolol levels were measured in our timolol-treated glaucoma patients employing three protocols: (1) measurements in ten patients over age 60 on chronic timolol therapy before, one hour, and three hours after receiving one drop of 0.5% timolol, (2) measurements in nine adult patients, with and without punctal occlusion, and (3) random ...

Is timolol an effective treatment for pyogenic granuloma?

International Journal of Dermatology, 2016
Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a benign vascular tumor that can be treated by cautery (chemical or thermal), laser, excision, curettage, sclerotherapy, and cryotherapy. Topical timolol is emerging as a non‐invasive modality for the treatment of PGs.

Fixed combinations of dorzolamide-timolol and brimonidine-timolol in the management of glaucoma

Expert Opinion on Pharmacotherapy, 2010
The emergence of fixed-combination drugs for the treatment of glaucoma has, to some extent, changed the medical management of glaucoma. The potential benefits of these drugs include a reduction in the total number of drops and preservatives instilled per day and improved patient comfort factors, which may contribute to better compliance.

Prospective, open‐label, rater‐blinded and self‐controlled pilot study of the treatment of proliferating superficial infantile hemangiomas with 0.5% topical timolol cream versus 595‐nm pulsed dye laser

Journal of dermatology (Print), 2017
Topical timolol and 595‐nm pulsed dye laser (PDL) are both widely used in the treatment of superficial infantile hemangiomas (IH). However, to date, there is no reliable study comparing the therapeutic outcomes between the two treatment options.

Differences in ocular surface irritation between timolol hemihydrate and timolol maleate

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 2000
We evaluated the anterior segment surface reaction findings between timolol hemihydrate and timolol maleate. The only known difference between these preparations is the maleate salt. After a baseline examination, we randomized 28 healthy subjects (26 completed) to timolol hemihydrate or timolol maleate given in both eyes twice daily, in a double masked ...

Colorimetric determination of Timolol concentration based on localized surface plasmon resonance of silver nanoparticles

Nanotechnology, 2016
In this work, a rapid and simple colorimetric method based on the surface plasmon resonance of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) was developed for the detection of the drug Timolol.

Review Timolol Hemihydrate: A New Formulation of Timolol for the Treatment of Glaucoma

Journal of Ocular Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 1996
Timolol maleate, a non-selective beta-adrenergic blocker, has been used to treat glaucoma and ocular hypertension for almost two decades. Recently a new preparation, timolol hemihydrate, has been described which eliminates the maleate buffer and simplifies the purification step for the R-enantiomer.

Topical Timolol for a Refractory Wound

Dermatologic Surgery, 2012
A43-year-old woman presented with a large refractory wound on her left mid-back (Figure 1A). Preservative-free tafluprost/timolol fixed combination: a new opportunity in the treatment of glaucoma

Expert Opinion on Pharmacotherapy, 2016
Introduction: Medical therapy of glaucoma aims to maintain the patient’s visual function and quality of life. This generally commences with monotherapy, but it is often difficult to reach the predetermined target pressure with this approach.
