QMU Analysis of Flexoelectric Timoshenko Beam by Evidence Theory

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2023
In recent years, with the rapid development of nanotechnology, a new type of electromechanical coupling effect similar to the piezoelectric effect, the flexoelectric effect, has gradually come into the public’s view. The flexoelectric beam that is the main structural unit of the flexoelectric signal output has broad application prospects in the next ...

Effect of piezoelectric patch on natural frequencies of Timoshenko beam made of functionally graded material

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2020
The present paper addresses developing the Dynamic Stiffness Method (DSM) for natural frequency analysis of functionally graded beam with piezoelectric patch based on the Timoshenko beam theory and power law of material grading.

A fresh study for dynamic behaviour of atomic force microscope cantilever by considering different immersion environments

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Nanoscience, 2020
In this article, the dynamic behaviour of a rectangular atomic force microscope immersed in different liquids has been investigated. To account the rotatory inertia and shear deformation effects, Timoshenko beam theory has been applied.

Micropolar modeling approach for periodic sandwich beams [PDF]

open access: yesCompos. Struct. 2018;185:656-664, 2018
We develop a micropolar Timoshenko beam theory and use it to model web-core sandwich beams. The beam theory is derived by a vector approach and the general displacement solution to the governing sixth-order equations is given. A nodally-exact micropolar Timoshenko beam element is formulated using the solution.

Analytical solutions for the Timoshenko beam theory with Free-Free boundary conditions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Timoshenko's theory for bending vibrations of a beam has been extensively studied since its development nearly one hundred years ago. Unfortunately there are not many analytical results. The results above the critical frequency inclusive haeve been tested only recently. Here an analytical expression for the solutions of the Timoshenko equation for free-

Modeling an elastic beam with piezoelectric patches by including magnetic effects [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Control Conference Proceedings, pp. 1045-1050, 2014, 2014
Models for piezoelectric beams using Euler-Bernoulli small displacement theory predict the dynamics of slender beams at the low frequency accurately but are insufficient for beams vibrating at high frequencies or beams with low length-to-width aspect ratios. A more thorough model that includes the effects of rotational inertia and shear strain, Mindlin-

Timoshenko Beam Theory for the Flexural Analysis of Moderately Thick Beams – Variational Formulation, and Closed Form Solution

open access: yesTECNICA ITALIANA-Italian Journal of Engineering Science, 2019
Received: 22 January 2019 Accepted: 19 March 2019 In this study, the Timoshenko first order shear deformation beam theory for the flexural behaviour of moderately thick beams of rectangular cross-section is formulated from vartiational principles, and ...

A Numerical Case Study on Contact Analysis with Large Displacement

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
In case of geometrically non-linear analysis of plane frame structures, Bernoulli-Euler beam elements considering the shear deformation to be zero are generally used.

Block Backstepping for Isotachic Hyperbolic PDEs and Multilayer Timoshenko Beams [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
In this paper, we investigate the rapid stabilization of N-layer Timoshenko composite beams with anti-damping and anti-stiffness at the uncontrolled boundaries. The problem of stabilization for a two-layer composite beam has been previously studied by transforming the model into a 1-D hyperbolic PIDE-ODE form and then applying backstepping to this new ...

New decay rates for a Cauchy thermelastic laminated Timoshenko problem with interfacial slip under Fourier or Cattaneo laws [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
The objective of the present paper is to investigate the decay of solutions for a laminated Timoshenko beam with interfacial slip in the whole space R subject to a thermal effect acting only on one component modelled by either Fourier or Cattaneo law. When the thermal effect is acting via the second or third component of the laminated Timoshenko beam ...
