On the Stability of the Cauchy Problem of Timoshenko Thermoelastic Systems with Past History: Cattaneo and Fourier Law [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
In this paper, we investigate the decay properties of the thermoelastic Timoshenko system with past history in the whole space where the thermal effects are given by Cattaneo and Fourier laws. We obtain that both systems, Timoshenko-Fourier and Timoshenko-Cattaneo, have the same rate of decay $(1 + t)^{-1/8}$ and satisfy the regularity-loss type ...

Analysis of the thermoviscoelastic Timoshenko system with diffusion effect

open access: yesPartial Differential Equations in Applied Mathematics, 2021
This paper is concerned with a new Timoshenko beam model with thermal, mass diffusion and viscoelastic effects. First, by the C0-semigroup theory, we prove the well posedness of the considered problem with Dirichlet boundary conditions.

Global well-posedness and exponential stability results of Bresse-Timoshenko system-type with second sound and distributed delay terms

open access: yesBoletim da Sociedade Paranaense de Matemática
In this paper, we investigate a Bresse-Timoshenko-type system with a distributed delay term and second sound. Under suitable assumptions, we establish the global well-posedness of the initial and boundary value problem by using the Faedo-Galerkin ...

Singular limit and long-time dynamics of Bresse systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
The Bresse system is a valid model for arched beams which reduces to the classical Timoshenko system when the arch curvature $\ell=0$. Our first result shows the Timoshenko system as a singular limit of the Bresse system as $\ell \to 0$. The remaining results are concerned with the long-time dynamics of Bresse systems.

Uniform stabilization for the Timoshenko beam by a locally distributed damping

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2003
We study the uniform stabilization of a Timoshenko beam by one control force. We prove that under, one locally distributed damping, the exponential stability for this system is assured if and only if the wave speeds are the ...

Global existence and optimal decay rates for the Timoshenko system: the case of equal wave speeds [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Differential Equations, 258(5), 1494-1518, 2015, 2014
This work first gives the global existence and optimal decay rates of solutions to the classical Timoshenko system on the framework of Besov spaces. Due to the \textit{non-symmetric} dissipation, the general theory for dissipative hyperbolic systems ([30]) can not be applied to the Timoshenko system directly.

Wave propagation characteristics in nanoporous metal foam nanobeams

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
This research is devoted to the wave propagation characteristics analysis of nanobeams made of nanoporous metal foams. Three nanoporosity distribution models, namely, symmetry, asymmetry and uniform distributions, are taken into account.
