ABSTRACT Background Posterior spinal instrumentation and fusion is a common surgical correction for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. Preventative multimodal analgesia, including opioids, is required to minimize postoperative pain, but opioids are associated with dose‐dependent side effects that may disrupt recovery.
