AI‐Powered Framework for Evaluating Drug Efficacy for Three‐Dimensional In Vitro Cancer Models in Robot‐Assisted Production

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
An AI‐powered, robot‐assisted framework automatically produces, images, and analyzes 3D tumor spheroids to evaluate drug efficacy. Integrated modules handle spheroid formation, live/dead staining, brightfield imaging, and automated image analysis, including spheroid segmentation, viability and metrics to assess the drug treatment efficacy. The workflow

3D‐Printing Aided Rapid Prototyping of Pretensioned Tensegrity Structures for Robotic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Printing, injection molding, and assembly (PMA) is a method for rapid prototyping mesoscale, topologically complex, and tensioned tensegrity structures. In combination with PMA method, two mold design strategies: modular mold and compact channel layout, enable efficiency and scalability for tensegrity fabrication.

A Pentaradial and Bilateral Combined Photoreception System in the Sea Cucumber is Mediated by a Blue Light‐Sensitive R‐Opsin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The sea cucumber Holothuria leucospilota detects blue and adjacent wavelengths of light via an r‐opsin with a maximum absorption at 459 nm. In the oral tentacles, papillae, and tube feet, distinct light‐sensing structures with specialized morphologies are formed, constituting a unique pentaradial and bilateral combined photoreception system.

Comparison of Accuracy of Self-Developing Films and Conventional Films for Radiographic Determination of Distance between File Tip and Radiographic Apex in Root Canal Therapy

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Basic Research, 2019
Background and objectives: The developing process is necessary for converting a latent image into a visible image in conventional dental x-ray films. Despite the considerable advances made in development of radiographic equipment, there are also still ...

Subcapital Femoral Neck Fracture after Fixation of an Intertrochanteric Fracture with a Proximal Femoral Nail: A Report of Two Cases

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Surgery, 2009
Subcapital femoral neck fractures are a rare complication after fixation of an intertrochanteric fracture with a proximal femoral nail. We report 2 such cases where the patients had severe osteoporosis, based on Singh's index and pathological findings ...

Apex-Confined Plasmonic Tip for High Resolution Tip-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopic Imaging of Carbon Nanotubes

open access: yes
This paper reports a handy technical scheme to decorate atomic force microscopy (AFM) tips toward tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (TERS) applications. The major attraction of these homemade tips lies in that silver decoration can be confined at the apex ...

Multiferroic‐Centric Materials and Systems Engineering for Battery Applications: An Insight Into Mechanisms, Strategies, and Characterizations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multiferroic order parameters – polarization, magnetization, and ferroelastic strain – are positioned as dynamic design variables for batteries. Their mechanistic roles, practical tuning through fabrication and external fields, and ferroic‐resolved characterization routes are unified into a closed‐loop framework, revealing how coupled ferroic responses
