Tip-Timing Data Analysis for Mistuned Bladed Discs Assemblies

open access: yesVolume 5: Structures and Dynamics, Parts A and B, 2008
In turbomachine industry, bladed assembly vibration measurements are very important for blades behaviour estimation. These measurements are generally obtained from strain gauges. However, one of the most promising methods for the analysis of blade vibrations in rotating bladed assemblies is the Blade Tip Timing or Optical Blade Vibration Measurement ...

TIP: Time-Proportional Instruction Profiling

MICRO-54: 54th Annual IEEE/ACM International Symposium on Microarchitecture, 2021
A fundamental part of developing software is to understand what the application spends time on. This is typically determined using a performance profiler which essentially captures how execution time is distributed across the instructions of a program.

Blade Crack Detection using Blade Tip Timing

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2021
The harsh working environment of compressor threats the integrality of bladed disk. Crack is one of the most fatal faults of rotating blades. Detecting the crack of blades at early stage could ensure the safe operation of gas turbine and save economic costs.

Experimental Investigation of the Blade Tip Timing (BTT) Uncertainties [PDF]

open access: possible, 2022
The uncertainties of blade tip displacement measurement using BTT are investigated through experiments. A novel test bench is established where the blade deformation can be measured simultaneously by laser displacement sensors and BTT, which enables the determination of the BTT measurement error.

Forced response of rotating bladed disks: Blade Tip-Timing measurements [PDF]

open access: yesMechanical Systems and Signal Processing, 2017
The Blade Tip-Timing is a well-known non-contact measurement technique currently employed for the identification of the dynamic behaviours of rotating bladed disks.

Tipping time of a quantum rod

American Journal of Physics, 2005
We study the tipping time of a quantum mechanical rod that is constrained to move in a plane in a gravitational potential. The initial state of the center of mass of the rod is localized within the base of support of the rod. The tipping time is found to increase exponentially with the height H of the rod as C1t0 exp[C2(H/H0)9], where C1 and C2 are ...
