Sustained Hypoxia‐Inducible Factor 1‐Alpha Accumulation Disrupts the Articular Niche to Promote Osteoarthritis Pathogenesis

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 7, July 2026.
Sustained HIF‐1α accumulation is not a compensatory shield, but a potent pathogenic driver of osteoarthritis. Continuous HIF‐1α signaling physically eradicates the avascular cartilage niche and primes the synovium for inflammation, establishing HIF‐1α as a critical target for disease‐modifying therapies.

Theorizing causality: A qualitative study of xylazine‐related wound diversity and perceived etiology among people who inject drugs

open access: yesAddiction, Volume 121, Issue 7, Page 1794-1807, July 2026.
Abstract Background and aims Incidence and severity of opioid‐associated skin and soft‐tissue infections, often requiring intensive and costly medical care, have increased substantially since the emergence of xylazine in the US drug supply. Although progress has been made in clinical and harm reduction recommendations for treating xylazine‐related ...

The Staging Model in Psychosis and Preventive Interventions: An Emerging Field With Debates on Conceptual Models and Interpretation of the Evidence Base

open access: yesEarly Intervention in Psychiatry, Volume 20, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims The staging model in psychiatry is heuristic and evolving, provoking debate and stimulating alternative views. This paper reviews major controversies in the field of staging and prevention of psychosis. Methods We review the literature on the classification model, the continuum model and the dynamic systems model applied to psychiatry ...

The Influence of Different Polishing Systems on the Gloss and Surface Roughness of Two Distinct Nano‐Filled Composites

open access: yesJournal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, Volume 38, Issue 7, Page 1448-1457, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the influence of different polishing systems on the surface roughness and gloss of two nano‐filled resin composites, and to investigate the effect of a modeling agent (Ceramage) on surface roughness. Methods Two nano‐filled resin composites, Filtek Z350 XT and Palfique LX5, were used.

Preliminary low speed wind tunnel tests on a 70 degrees cropped delta wing with blowing at all edges

open access: yes, 1960
Wind tunnel tests have been made on a 70° Cropped Delta Wing with slot blowing from all edges in the plane of the wing. The tests include six-component force and moment measurements and the distribution of pressure at four chordwise stations on the ...
