Compensating cooling on the suction surface of the blade by the jets of the film holes on the endwall

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
The coolant ejected from the film holes on the gill region of the blade deflects to the blade tip in the action of the cascade passage vortices, resulting in the local film cooling failure on the suction surface near the endwall. This paper introduces an

VDAC1 Upregulation Induces Hyperexcitability of Nociceptive Sensory Neurons Via Enhanced Mitochondrial Atp Efflux in Neuropathic Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The mechanism diagram of VDAC1 mediating neuronal excitability and neuropathic pain. Briefly, VDAC1 is expressed in DRG neurons and is upregulated following CCI‐induced neuropathic pain. This upregulation enhances ATP transport from mitochondria to the cytoplasm in sensory neurons, leading to increased neuronal excitability and pain behavior.

Microbial Odorant Detection Guides Drosophila Parasitoids Seeking Hosts in Fermenting Fruits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Yeast microbes in fermenting fruits attract both host flies and their parasitoid wasps. Female Leptopilina boulardi detect yeast‐emitted ethyl esters via two olfactory receptors, LbouOR167 and LbouOR136. A conserved residue, Leu159, is critical for binding these compounds, enabling female wasps to locate host‐rich habitats.

Wireless, Adaptable and Fully Implantable Battery‐powered Devices for Optical Stimulation of the Spinal Cord in Small Rodents

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Current technologies for spinal cord optogenetic stimulation rely on external power sources and face reliability constraints in freely behaving animals. Here, a fully implantable, battery‐powered optoelectronic device is introduced, enabling operation in any selected environment with wireless recharging for months‐long stimulation.

Blowing DNA Bubbles

open access: yes, 2016
We report here experimental observations which indicate that topologically or covalently formed polymer loops embedded in an ultrathin liquid film on a solid substrate can be “blown” into circular “bubbles” during scanning force microscopy (SFM) imaging.

Comparative study on a physical model of specific features of top blowing through the tip with folded nozzles when blowing single-phase liquids

open access: yesFundamental and applied problems of ferrous metallurgy, 2020
The aim of the work was to study the nature and peculiarities of the interaction of the lance of the converter lance flowing from the folded nozzles with a liquid bath of single-phase liquid. The study was conducted on the basis of a physical model of the converter with top purge. The design of a folded nozzle consisting of a central cylindrical nozzle

Wood‐Based Bioelectronics: Lignosulfonate‐Based Conductive Biocomposites for Paper Organic Electrochemical Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Biodegradable wood‐based bioelectronics are realized by integrating poly (2,3‐ethylenedioxythiopene:lignosulfonate (PEDOT:LigS) as a mixed ionicelectronic channel in organic electrochemical transistors fabricated on paper substrates. The biocomposite exhibits high conductivity, biocompatibility, and strong transistor performance, while devices built on
