Flowfield Downstream of a Compressor Cascade with Tip Leakage

open access: yes, 1998
An 8 blade, 7 passage linear compressor cascade with tip leakage was built. The flowfield downstream of the cascade was measured using four sensor hot-wire anemometers, from which the mean velocity field , the turbulence stress field and velocity ...

Hybrid Oxygen Enrichment and Preheating Strategy for Performance Recovery in Ultra‐Lean Micro–Trapped Vortex Combustors

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 6, Page 3028-3041, June 2026.
Ultra‐lean H2 micro‐combustor performance is boosted through regulated O2 enrichment and inlet preheating. A 16‐case Taguchi study (ϕ = 0.3) shows: controlled enrichment and heating increase radiative output and efficiency, but excessive O2/temperature causes flashback.

Analytical investigations of thermodynamic effect on cavitation characteristics of sheet and tip leakage vortex cavitation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Vapor production in cavitation extracts the latent heat of evaporation from the surrounding liquid, which decreases the local temperature, and hence the local vapor pressure in the vicinity of cavity.

Quasi‐digital memristor with self‐rectifying and synaptic functions in crossbar array architectures

open access: yesFlexMat, Volume 3, Issue 2, Page 331-340, June 2026.
The text should be different from the abstract text. A self‐rectifying quasi‐digital memristor (QDM) featuring a well‐defined p‐AgI/n‐PbI2 heterojunction is developed. It monolithically integrate diode‐like rectification, digital switching, and analog plasticity.

Effects of Double-Leakage Tip Clearance Flow on the Performance of a Compressor Stage with a Large Rotor Tip Gap

open access: yes, 2016
Effects of a large rotor tip gap on the performance of a one and half stage axial compressor are investigated in detail with a numerical simulation based on LES and available PIV data.

Wearable biofluids colorimetric biosensors

open access: yesFlexMat, Volume 3, Issue 2, Page 299-326, June 2026.
Wearable and flexible colorimetric sensors enable real‐time, non‐invasive detection through visible color changes. Advances in materials and device engineering have driven their development; however, challenges remain in sensitivity, selectivity, and scalable manufacturing.

Numerical Investigations into the Origin of Tip Unsteadiness in a Transonic Compressor

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics, 2018
Three-dimensional numerical simulations are conducted to investigate the origin of flow unsteadiness and its associated unsteady flow phenomena in a transonic compressor rotor. The predicted results are compared with the available experimental data and a

Heterogeneous Multilayer Nanopores via Chemically Tuned Dielectric Breakdown for Single‐Molecule Sensing

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 36, 26 June 2026.
A scalable fabrication method based on chemically tuned controlled dielectric breakdown (CT‐CDB) enables heterogeneous multilayer nanopores integrating SiNx with 2D materials such as hBN, MoS2, and graphene. The resulting nanopores exhibit distinct electrokinetic behaviors and low noise, allowing structure‐dependent single‐protein sensing.

Mesoscale and Submesoscale Variability in the Indian Ocean

open access: yesReviews of Geophysics, Volume 64, Issue 2, June 2026.
Abstract Material transport and air‐sea coupling dynamics associated with monsoon‐related mesoscale and submesoscale processes in the Indian Ocean significantly modulate biogeochemical cycles, the large‐scale energy balance, and both regional and global climate change.

Modulation of Quorum Sensing and Virulence Gene Expression in Escherichia coli by Extracts of Physalis alkekengi

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 18, Issue 3, June 2026.
Root extracts of Physalis alkekengi were examined for activity against multidrug‐resistant (MDR) Escherichia coli. The ethanolic extract suppressed bacterial growth, lowered biofilm formation by ~63%, and markedly reduced expression of luxS and fimH. Findings highlight P.
