Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

A Study on the High Load Operation of a Natural Gas-Diesel Dual-Fuel Engine
Diesel fueled compression ignition engines are widely used in power generation and freight transport owing to their high fuel conversion efficiency and ability to operate reliably for long periods of time at high loads.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Analysis and Calibration of Blade Tip-Timing Vibration Measurement Under Variable Rotating Speeds
Blade tip timing (BTT) vibration measurement is a promising on-line blade monitoring method, but various uncertainties bring great challenge in engineering applications. Most existing works are based on the assumption of constant rotating speeds. However,

Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

CNN-based defect diagnosis method for rotating blades
In order to solve the problem of difficult blade defect diagnosis caused by severe signal under-sampling in tiptiming technology, a defect diagnosis method for rotating blade based on convolution neural network (CNN) was proposed. In the method, the under-

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

A Torsional Vibration Measurement Method for Rotating Blades Based on Blade Tip Timing
During the working process of the turbine, some types of faults can cause changes in the vibration characteristics of the blades. The real-time vibration monitoring of the blades is of great significance to the stable operation and state-based ...
