Prevalence and Trajectory of Household Material Hardship Among Children With Advanced Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Families of children with advanced cancer living in poverty experience inferior outcomes including poor parent mental health and worse child quality of life. Household material hardship (HMH: food, housing, transportation, and/or utility insecurity) is a modifiable poverty exposure—and potential intervention target—that ...

Optic nerve changes detected with ocular ultrasonography during epiduroscopy: a narrative review

open access: yesFrontiers in Surgery
BackgroundEpiduroscopy has emerged as a transformative minimally invasive tool for the diagnosis and treatment of spinal diseases. However, the infusion of irrigation fluids and manipulation of epidural structures during the procedure may unintentionally

Influence of soil and tire parameters on traction

open access: yesResearch in Agricultural Engineering, 2008
The drawbar pull, travel reduction (slip), and rolling resistance are the main criteria to describe the traction behaviour of off road vehicles. Besides the engine performance, the drawbar pull is influenced by the traction conditions such as soil and ...

Tire/wheel concept [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
A tire and wheel assembly is disclosed in which a low profile pneumatic tire (having sidewalls which deflect inwardly under load) and a wheel (having a rim featuring a narrow central channel and extended rim flanges) form the combination.

Feasibility and Preliminary Efficacy of Integrative Neuromuscular Training for Childhood Cancer Survivors: A Pilot Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often exhibit early deficits in muscle and movement competence, which can compromise long‐term health. Integrative neuromuscular training (INT), a multifaceted approach combining fundamental movement activities with strength exercises, may help address these deficits during ...

Defect Inspection in Tire Radiographic Image Using Concise Semantic Segmentation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Automated tire visual inspection plays an extraordinary important role in ensuring tire quality and driving safety. Due to the anisotropic complex multi texture and defect diversity characteristic of tire radiographic image, tire intelligent visual ...

Comparison of Achieved Rolling Resistance Values of Two Selected Tires on a Solid Surface

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
The article deals with measuring the rolling resistance of two tires Mitas TS04 6.00-16 6PR and Mitas TS05 10.0/75-15.3 10PR on a concrete surface. The measurement was performed in a soil test channel which had to be adjusted for the given purpose.

Therapeutic Apheresis for Intravenous Methylprednisolone‐Refractory Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder: Clinical and Radiological Outcomes in a Single‐Center Case Series

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a relapsing autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. High‐dose intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) is the standard first‐line therapy for acute attacks, although some patients remain refractory.

Numerical Investigation of the Influence of Tire Deformation and Vehicle Ride Height on the Aerodynamics of Passenger Cars

open access: yesFluids, 2022
Wheels and wheel houses contribute up to 25% of the total aerodynamic drag of passenger cars and interact in a complex way with their surroundings. Rims and tires induce complex flow separation mechanisms in a highly unsteady regime and the proximity to ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
