Dynamic Disulfide Ionogels for Self‐Healing, Transparent, and Elastic E‐Skins

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A dynamic covalent ionogel is designed via polymer–ionic liquid interaction control. The interplay between ionic liquid compatibility, viscosity, and concentration governs polymer segmental dynamics, which in turn regulates disulfide exchange kinetics and mechanical durability.

Piezoresistivity Enhancement by Graphite Flake Alignment in Thin Composite Films for Dielectric Elastomer Switches

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This article presents dielectric elastomer switch (DES) materials, based on composite thin films. Alignment of graphite flakes due to their physical confinement within the thin films lead to much stronger piezoresistive responses than bulk composites, while their durability exceeds that of conventional liquid‐based DES materials.

Estimation of vertical load on a tire from contact patch length and its use in vehicle stability control

open access: yes, 2010
The vertical load on a moving tire was estimated by using accelerometers attached to the inner liner of a tire. The acceleration signal was processed to obtain the contact patch length created by the tire on the road surface. Then an appropriate equation

Finite Element Analysis and Footprint Determination of a Bias Truck Tire under Vertical Static Load Using Global/Local Method

open access: yesعلوم و تکنولوژی پلیمر, 2010
Afinite element model of a bias truck tire under static vertical load using a global/local technique is designed in two parts. In the first part a previously created model for radial tires is developed to take the constructional variables of bias tires into account. It is shown that the technique can successfully be used for bias tires.
