Tissue Adhesives in Cutaneous Surgery

Archives of Dermatology, 1972
Clinical applications of alkyl alpha cyanoacrylates are presented in relation to cutaneous surgery in hemostasis and closure of wounds. The most likely adhesive for clinical application is isobutyl-2-cyanoacrylate. Polymerization speed, histotoxicity, polymerization temperature, wetting, and spreading are discussed.

Electrocuring Tissue Adhesives

ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2017
The challenge remains on developing bioahesive formulations for tissue fixation. A recently invented electrically charged glue (known as electrocuring adhesive or voltaglue)[1] is being developed. Comparing with light (photocuring)[2], heat (thermocuring)[3], and chemical activation means, the electrocuring allows adhesive to be activated on-demand ...

Adhesion remodeling underlying tissue morphogenesis

Trends in Cell Biology, 2005
Cell-adhesion molecules localized at adherens junctions (AJs) maintain the polarized architecture of epithelial cells but limit their movements. The morphogenesis of a developing epithelium is associated with the control of both cell shape and cell contacts.

[The adhesive strength of tissue adhesives].

Zeitschrift fur experimentelle Chirurgie, Transplantation, und kunstliche Organe : Organ der Sektion Experimentelle Chirurgie der Gesellschaft fur Chirurgie der DDR, 1989
Twenty concentrates were produced of the blood from voluntary healthy donors by a method for producing autologous tissue adhesive. Their adhesive strength were tested by means of Thermo-fleece-specimens. A review was elaborated about the kinetics and the testing of the fibrin fixation. Methodical faults were found out.
