Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Three-Dimensional Printing of Antibiotics-Loaded Poly-epsilon-Caprolactone/Poly(Lactic-Co-Glycolic acid) Scaffolds for Treatment of Chronic Osteomyelitis

open access: yes, 2018
Osteomyelitis, an infection and inflammation of bone marrow, often progresses to chronic stage because of delay in diagnosis and treatment. Once it becomes chronic, intravenous antibiotics therapy is no longer effective as swollen surrounding tissue ...

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.
