A visual qualitative analysis of color Doppler myocardial images cannot show the low velocity changes in myocardial walls, and a quantitative analysis of tissue Doppler data is mandatory for an analysis of color Doppler myocardial recordings, including an assessment of myocardial velocity gradient across the thickness of the wall.
