Can an expansion device be used in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction? An in vitro study of soft tissue graft tibial fixation

The Knee, 2016
The purpose of this study was to compare the mechanical properties of an interference screw with an expansion device in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction.A total of 52 porcine tibia and 20 polyurethane foam blocks (0.16g/cm3) were used. Forty pullout tests were carried out to combine the two types of bones - surrogate and porcine - with ...

Constructing the Well Regenerated Decellularized Adipose Tissue Using External Volume Expansion Device

Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
External volume expansion (EVE) devices has been demonstrated to enhance the survival of fat grafts. Decellularized adipose tissue (DAT) serves as a promising scaffold for adipose regeneration; however, the effectiveness of adipose regeneration in DAT remains limited, and the underlying mechanisms of its regeneration require further investigation. This ...

[A simple tissue expansion device for scalp defect].

Revue de stomatologie et de chirurgie maxillo-faciale, 2007
The closure of scalp defects requires various procedures, but unfortunately with a high rate of sequels. The authors report their experience regarding a large pilomatrixoma of the scalp. The closure of an 8 by 10 cm defect resulting from excision was achieved using a simple tissular extension device during 20 days. The scar aspect was very satisfactory.

Cost-effectiveness of a topically applied pre-operative tissue expansion device for radial forearm free flaps: a cohort study.

Clinical otolaryngology : official journal of ENT-UK ; official journal of Netherlands Society for Oto-Rhino-Laryngology & Cervico-Facial Surgery, 2012
The objective of this study is to test the hypothesis that using a non-invasive and inexpensive pre-operative tissue expansion device (DynaClose) for radial forearm free-flap donor sites will result in a significant reduction in the cost of both in-hospital and out-of-hospital wound care compared with that of unexpanded radial forearm free-flap donor ...
