Revisiting the synthesis of dimethyl carbonate from methanol and carbon dioxide
Abstract The process for producing dimethyl carbonate (DMC) from carbon dioxide (CO2) and methanol is explored in this article. It provides an overview of the thermodynamics involved in DMC synthesis, discussing the challenges and potential solutions. The article highlights the reported use of catalysts and dehydrating agents to improve DMC yield and ...

Organic azides are readily reduced to amines under mild conditions by ammonia borane complex, catalyzed by a low loading level of reusable Au nanoparticles supported on TiO2. We present the first protocol for the chemoselective reduction of organic azides to amines by ammonia borane complex. In the presence of a low catalytic amount of Au nanoparticles

High‐Titanium Zircon Rims in Rhyolite – A Reflection of Adiabatic Ascent?
The ascent of granitic magma from source to emplacement is rapidly achieved through dyking, resulting in negligible heat loss to the surrounding wallrock (i.e., adiabatic). Zircon growth during ascent can record the changing magma conditions including adiabatic cooling and heating, resulting in high titanium rims on low titanium cores without ...

ABSTRACT Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) remains the third leading cause of death worldwide, and conventional bronchodilator‐based therapies have limited efficacy in preventing exacerbations and disease progression. The 2024–2026 period represents a historic inflection point: three mechanistically distinct agents received Food and Drug ...

Raman spectral identification of phase distribution in anodic titanium dioxide coating; pp. 422–429 [PDF]
Growing need for cleaner environment and energy production has brought about a hunt for perspective materials. One of such perspective materials is titanium dioxide (TiO2, titania) due to its chemical stability and photocatalytic properties.

Astrometry of the main satellites of Uranus: 18 years of observations
We determine accurate positions of the main satellites of Uranus: Miranda, Ariel, Umbriel, Titania, and Oberon. Positions of Uranus, as derived from those of these satellites, are also determined. The observational period spans from 1992 to 2011.
