Titania Nanotubes Prepared by Chemical Processing
Advanced Materials, 1999We report a new method for the synthesis of titanium oxide (TiO2) nanotubes. When anatase-phase- or rutile-phase-containing TiO2 was treated with an aqueous solution of 5–10 M NaOH for 20 h at 110 °C and then with HCl aqueous solution and distilled water, needle-shaped TiO2 products were obtained (diameter ≈ 8 nm, length ≈ 100 nm).

Hierarchical Titania Nanotubes with Self-Branched Crystalline Nanorods
ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2010Surface decoration strategy for one-dimensional nanostructures will improve their electrical, optical, mechanical, and electrochemical performances dramatically. Heterogeneous growth/deposition on surfaces, however, may create undesired junction interfaces in the system.

TiO2 is a semiconductor with photo-catalytic properties and is being thoroughly investigated for its use in the degradation of harmful environmental pollutants using photo-catalytic reactions. The effects of TiO2 nanoparticles and different structured TiO2 electrodes on methyl orange degradation using sunlight have been investigated.

Electrochemical biosensing based on polypyrrole/titania nanotube hybrid
Materials Science and Engineering: C, 2013The glucose oxidase (GOD) modified polypyrrole/titania nanotube enzyme electrode is fabricated for electrochemical biosensing application. The titania nanotube array is grown directly on a titanium substrate through an anodic oxidation process. A thin film of polypyrrole is coated onto titania nanotube array to form polypyrrole/titania nanotube hybrid ...

Growth of Carbon Nanotubes on Nanoporous Titania Templates
Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2007This work reports the synthesis of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) on nanoporous titanium dioxide (TiO2) templates. TiO2 nanotubular templates for MWCNTs are produced by anodization of titanium followed by pulsed electrodeposition (PED) of cobalt inside the TiO2 nanotubes.

Enhanced Photocleavage of Water Using Titania Nanotube Arrays
Nano Letters, 2004In this study highly ordered titania nanotube arrays of variable wall thickness are used to photocleave water under ultraviolet irradiation. We demonstrate that the wall thickness and length of the nanotubes can be controlled via anodization bath temperature.

Advanced Geometries of PEDOT Formed in Titania Nanotubes
ChemPhysChem, 2012In and out of tube: Robust poly-3,4-ethylene-dioxythiophene nanostructures in the form of nanopore arrays and inverse nanotube arrays are obtained by site-selective deposition into TiO(2) nanotubes. The deposition process critically depends on the applied potential and is in line with three-dimensional (3D) progressive and 3D instantaneous nucleation ...

Synthesis of Cerium-Doped Titania Nanoparticles and Nanotubes
Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2015Cerium-doped titania nanoparticles and nanotubes were synthesized via hydrothermal processes. X-Ray Diffraction revealed that cerium-doped titania nanoparticles have an anatase crystal structure, while cerium-doped titania nanotubes have an H2Ti3O7-type structure.

Fabrication of Titania Nanotube Arrays in Viscous Electrolytes
Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2010This study probes the dependence of titania nanotube arrays nanoarchitecture on different synthesis parameters in viscous electrolytes. Titania nanotube arrays were synthesized in glycerol, ethylene glycol and carboxymethylcellulose as base materials. The effects of anodization voltage and time, as well as chemical composition and pH of the electrolyte

Reinforcement of resin based cement with titania nanotubes
Dental Materials, 2010One of the limitations of resin cements and flowable dental composites is their poor mechanical properties such as low flexural strength and fracture resistance under body conditions. The present study was performed to enhance the mechanical properties of commercial acrylic cement (CMW1) by introducing novel nanostructured titania tubes (n-TiO(2) tubes)
