SYNTAXY OF TITANITE, AEGIRINE AND ECKERMANNITE IN ALKALI SYENITE PEGMATITES OF THE VISHNEVYE MOUNTAINS (SOUTH URALS) [PDF]
Crystallographic orientation of titanite intergrowths with aegirine and eckermannite was found in alkali syenite pegmatites of the Vishnevye Mountains: the titanite face ( 1 11) is parallel to pyroxene and amphibole face (010) and the titanite face (110)

The key factors making the monzogranitic porphyry fertile for mineralization, including its high Cl, S, and H2O contents, high oxidation state, significant fluid exsolution, and multiple recharges of deep‐seated mafic magma, were all critical for the formation of the Wunugetushan porphyry Cu‐Mo deposit. ABSTRACT The Wunugetushan (Wushan) porphyry Cu–Mo

Key Points Measurement of 86Sr at count rates < 1500 cps can result in statistical bias. Non‐linear signals in analogue detection mode (e.g., Rb) present a challenge for accurately dating high 87Rb/86Sr mica (> 1000). Accounting for these considerations, high 87Rb/86Sr mica are dated here with accuracies of ∼ 1%.

Titanite low-temperature alteration and Ti mobility
A pseudomorphous aggregate after titanite composed of smectite, anatase and residual titanite of composition (Ca0.98,Mn0.02)(Ti0.65,Al0.35)[SiO4](O0.65,OH0.35), from a depth of 450 m in the Broken Hill South Mine, New South Wales, Australia, was ...

Key Points 7 μm spot‐diameter LA‐MC‐ICP‐MS analyses yield accurate zircon U‐Pb ages. 1013 Ω amplifier resistors improve low‐signal Pb measurements. Saturn correction protocols minimise down‐hole fractionation effects. We present a systematic evaluation of high spatial‐resolution zircon U‐Pb dating using a Thermo Scientific Neoma multi‐collector ICP‐MS ...

Variable Sr Diffusion and Implications for Rb–Sr Biotite Geochronology
ABSTRACT The rubidium–strontium (Rb–Sr) system has a long pedigree as a geochronological tool that relies on the application of an isochron approach. In particular, biotite contains strongly radiogenic Rb–Sr isotopes, and thus can yield meaningful crystallisation or cooling ages via this approach. However, the response of the Rb–Sr system in biotite to

Titanite: A potential solidus barometer for granitic magma systems [PDF]
International audienceConstraining crystallization pressure and thus intrusion depth of granites in various geodynamic settings remains challenging, yet important to further our understanding of magma system and crustal evolution.

MINERALOGICAL CHARACTERISATION OF TITANITE FROM ALINCI, REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA [PDF]
In this paper is presented the mineralogical characterization of titanite from Alinci, Republic of Macedonia. Two samples of titanite were analysed by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and XRD method. Titanite grows within arfvedsonite nests.

ABSTRACT Understanding the pressure of emplacement of granitic intrusions is crucial to understanding the exhumation history of plutons and constraining the tectonic setting of magma emplacement. However, P–T and geochronological constraints from exhumed plutons are often characterized by large uncertainties, especially in shallow crustal settings with

ABSTRACT In the middle to lower continental crust, mineral reactions can play a key role in controlling rheological behaviour by generating fine‐grained, mechanically weak domains. In granulite‐facies rocks from Krossøy (Bergen Arcs, Norway), we document how garnet breakdown produced interconnected networks of orthopyroxene + plagioclase ± spinel that ...
