Hot deformation behavior of TC4-PCS composites by powder metallurgy
The in-situ synthesized particle reinforced TC4 matrix composites were prepared by powder metallurgy pressureless sintering using polycarbosilane (PCS) as precursor. The thermal compression simulation experiments were conducted on TC4-1PCS (mass fraction

Fabrication and evaluation of brazed titanium-clad Borsic/aluminum compression panels [PDF]
Processes for brazing Borsic/aluminum composite materials that eliminate diffusion of braze alloy constituents into the aluminum matrix developed. One brazing study led to the development of a hybrid composite which combines high strength Borsic/aluminum

From Waste to Value: Conversion of Calcium Sulfate to Vaterite via Carbon Capture and Storage
This study introduces a new concept for carbon management that relies on the carbonation of industrial gypsum waste and yields phase‐pure vaterite at ambient conditions without any additives. The obtained vaterite is further shown to be a reactive material that develops compressive strength in aqueous suspensions like conventional cements.

Mesoporous Carbon Thin Films with Large Mesopores as Model Material for Electrochemical Applications
Mesoporous carbon thin films possessing 70 nm mesopores are prepared on titanium substrates by soft templating of resol resins with a self‐synthesized poly(ethylene oxide)‐block‐poly(hexyl acrylate) block copolymer. A strategy to avoid corrosion of the metal substrate is presented, and the films are extensively characterized in terms of morphology ...

Method for the production of strongly adhesive films on titanium and titanium alloys with a metallization process [PDF]
A process for the spray-application of a strongly adhesive, thick antifriction layer on titanium and titanium alloys is proposed. The titanium/titanium alloy component to be coated is first subjected to cleaning in a pickling bath with reducing additives

An epi‐intraneural interface is developed through in silico optimization and a novel tridimensional microfabrication pipeline. The device integrates penetrating and epineural contacts on a flexible substrate. Mechanical, electrochemical, and in vivo testing in rat and pig reveal robust implantation, low‐threshold activation, and site‐dependent ...
