Production of spherical titanium alloy powders used in additive manufacturing from titanium scrap [PDF]
The main materials for 3D printing of titanium are fine metal alloy powders from which produce final articles with required quality. These powders must have definite chemical compositions, physical/mechanical characteristics, and also necessary ...

The role of titanium in electromigrated tunnel junctions [PDF]
A standard route for fabrication of nanoscopic tunnel junctions is via electromigration of lithographically prepared gold nanowires. In the lithography process, a thin adhesion layer, typically titanium, is used to promote the adhesion of the gold nanowires to the substrate.

Thermodynamic Analysis of Titanium Removal from Molten iron Smelted with Large Amounts of Sodium Additives [PDF]
High purity iron is obtained from vanadium-titanium magnetite (VTM) by one-step coal-based direct reduction-smelting process with coal as reductant and sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) as additives. Industrial experiments show that the process of treating molten iron with a large amount of Na2CO3 is effective in removing titanium from molten iron.

Nonstoichiometric titanium dioxide nanotubes with enhanced catalytical activity under visible light [PDF]
The catalytic activity of nanotubular titanium dioxide films formed during the oxidation of acetone to carbon dioxide under the action of visible light with a wavelength of 450 nm was found to be approximately 2 times higher compared to standard titanium dioxide (Degussa P25).

Binding energies and electronic structures of adsorbed titanium chains on carbon nanotubes [PDF]
We have studied the binding energies and electronic structures of metal (Ti, Al, Au) chains adsorbed on single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNT) using first principles methods. Our calculations have shown that titanium is much more favored energetically over gold and aluminum to form a continuous chain on a variety of SWNTs. The interaction between titanium

Underlying burning resistant mechanisms for titanium alloy [PDF]
The "titanium fire" as produced during high pressure and friction is the major failure scenario for aero-engines. To alleviate this issue, Ti-V-Cr and Ti-Cu-Al series burn resistant titanium alloys have been developed. However, which burn resistant alloy exhibit better property with reasonable cost needs to be evaluated.

Titanium and titanium oxides at the K- and L-edges: validating theoretical calculations of X-ray absorption and X-ray emission spectra with measurements [PDF]
Using well-calibrated experimental data we validate theoretical X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) as well as X-ray emission spectroscopy (XES) calculations for titanium (Ti), titanium oxide (TiO), and titanium dioxide (TiO$_2$) at the Ti K- and L-edges as well as O K-edge. XAS and XES in combination with a multi-edge approach offer a detailed insight
