Amyloidogenic properties of transthyretin‐like protein (TLP) fromEscherichia coli
We report the amyloid-like properties of Escherichia coli transthyretin-like protein (TLP). TLP is 32% homologous to human transthyretin (hTTR), and is also tetrameric. In contrast to hTTR, TLP does not bind thyroxine.

Can species adapt to drought using multiple strategies? Lessons from the California poppy. [PDF]
Summary Plants can escape drought by completing life cycles early, tolerate drought by increasing physiological limits, or avoid drought stress by obtaining or using water more efficiently. It remains unclear whether strategies vary within species across their distributional ranges due to trade‐offs, and whether species can exhibit plasticity in ...

Association of low‐grade albuminuria and triple‐line pattern as markers of early peripheral vascular remodeling in adolescents with type 1 diabetes [PDF]
Background Adolescents with type 1 diabetes (T1D) face premature atherosclerosis, but standard carotid intima‐media thickness (IMT) may lack sensitivity for the earliest vascular injuries.

Lung ultrasound morphology patterns predict treatment response and weaning outcomes in high-risk mechanically ventilated patients [PDF]
Objectives This study aimed to investigate the relationship between lung ultrasound morphology patterns—localized tissue-like patterns (TLP) and diffuse B-lines (DBP)—and patients’ response to routine clinician-directed management in high-risk ...

The TLP 2-DOF as an alternative model for extreme wave application
Tension Leg Platform (TLP) is an offshore platform structure used for deep-sea oil and gas exploration. The main structure of the TLP consists of a deck, pontoon, mooring system, and foundation.

Pyramiding insect and disease resistance in an elite indica rice cultivar ASD16
Pyramiding transgenes of interest is one of the strategies to engineer multiple stress resistance in crop plants. Transgenic plants which stably express different genes can be hybridized to bring these genes together in one plant.

Initial Design of Tension Leg Platform for Offshore Wind Farm
As a floating foundation for wind turbine, dynamic response of offshore structure to external forces should be as small as possible because the motion of the structure imposes inertial force to a wind turbine system.
