Measuring the temperature dependence of individual two-level systems by direct coherent control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We demonstrate a new method to directly manipulate the state of individual two-level systems (TLS) in phase qubits. It allows one to characterize the coherence properties of TLS using standard microwave pulse sequences, while the qubit is used only for ...

Automatic Registration of TLS-TLS and TLS-MLS Point Clouds Using a Genetic Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2017
Registration of point clouds is a fundamental issue in Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) remote sensing because point clouds scanned from multiple scan stations or by different platforms need to be transformed to a uniform coordinate reference frame.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Formation of anisotropic Tl-1212, Tl-2212, Tl-1223 and Tl-2223 particles using aerosol flow reacted powders [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Appiled Superconductivity, 1994
Highly anisotropic particles of Tl-1212, Tl-2212, Tl-1223 and Tl-2223 superconductors were grown. The Tl-free precursor powders with the compositions Ba{sub 1}Ca{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}Ag{sub 0.37}O{sub 6} and Ba{sub 2}Ca{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}Ag{sub 0.37}O{sub 7} were prepared using an aerosol flow reactor.

Utilizarea scanerului laser terestru în măsurătorile forestiere: cerințe metodologice și precauții necesare la aplicarea în practică [TLS in forest inventories: methodology and precautions] [PDF]

open access: yesBucovina Forestieră, 2018
TLS is also known as ground-based LiDAR which provides the capacity to recreate the 3D vegetation structure with millimeter accuracy. The distance measurement of terrestrial laser scanner Z+F Imager 5010 is based on phase shift measurements which is ...

Transmission-line resonators for the study of individual two-level tunneling systems

open access: yes, 2017
Parasitic two-level tunneling systems (TLS) emerge in amorphous dielectrics and constitute a serious nuisance for various microfabricated devices, where they act as a source of noise and decoherence.
