Transmission-line resonators for the study of individual two-level tunneling systems

open access: yes, 2017
Parasitic two-level tunneling systems (TLS) emerge in amorphous dielectrics and constitute a serious nuisance for various microfabricated devices, where they act as a source of noise and decoherence.

Laser‐Based Sculpturing of Embedded Ultrathin Metal‐Oxide Nanopores for Enhanced Biomolecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled laser‐drilling of embedded HfO2 membranes creates three layer nanopores with Gaussian‐shaped cavities sculptured in the supporting layers. These embedded solid‐state nanopores slow DNA translocation by 12‐fold compared to SiNx pores, enabling high‐resolution, label‐free detection of short DNAs, RNAs, and proteins.

Test Suite development for verification of TLS security protocol

open access: yesТруды Института системного программирования РАН, 2018
Despite the fact that TLS and its predecessor SSL are in use for more than 15 years, there are no accepted public conformance test suite for those protocols.

Three‐dimensional Antimony Sulfide Based Flat Optics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents the development of a grayscale electron beam lithography (g‐EBL) method for fabricating antimony trisulfide (Sb2S3) nanostructures with customizable 3D profiles. The refractive index of g‐EBL patterned Sb2S3 is determined based on the synergy of genetic algorithm and transfer matrix method.

Low temperature dipolar echo in amorphous dielectrics: Significance of relaxation and decoherence free two level systems

open access: yes, 2012
The nature of dielectric echoes in amorphous solids at low temperatures is investigated. It is shown that at long delay times the echo amplitude is determined by a small subset of two level systems (TLS) having negligible relaxation and decoherence ...

Generating Cell Surface Nucleated Hydrogels with an Artificial Membrane‐Binding Transglutaminase

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cell‐based therapies require advanced strategies to enhance cell delivery and bioactivity. Cell membrane engineering offers an avenue to impart new functions to delivered cells to boost their viability and function. Here, an artificial membrane‐binding transglutaminase is generated and biophysically characterized.

Various scenarios of measurements using a smartphone with a LiDAR sensor in the context of integration with the TLS point cloud

open access: yesReports on Geodesy and Geoinformatics
Smartphones with Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) sensors are increasingly used for engineering measurements. Although the processing of the acquired point clouds seems similar to the processing of point clouds measured with, for example, a ...

DSTC: DNS-based Strict TLS Configurations

open access: yes, 2018
Most TLS clients such as modern web browsers enforce coarse-grained TLS security configurations. They support legacy versions of the protocol that have known design weaknesses, and weak ciphersuites that provide fewer security guarantees (e.g.

Selective Charge Injection via Topological van der Waals Contacts for Barrier‐Free p‐Type TMD Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Topological van der Waals contacts represent a new class of electrodes for 2D semiconductors, enabling precise control of the Schottky barrier height (SBH) and contact resistance (RC) through interlayer distance and orbital hybridization engineering. In Se‐based transition metal dichalcogenides, these contacts achieve an ultralow SBH of 7 meV, RC of 0.
