Stoma‐Shell Nanoarchitecture for Enhanced Plasma Confinement Catalysis in Synthesis of Ethanol from CO2

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐energy electron impact in plasma catalysis often causes excessive dissociation of active intermediates, limiting C2+ product selectivity. To address this challenge, a bio‐inspired stoma‐shell nanoarchitecture is designed to decouple electron impact from catalytic reaction zones.

Two cases of carfilzomib‐induced thrombotic microangiopathy successfully treated with Eculizumab in multiple myeloma

open access: yesBMC Nephrology, 2021
Background Treatment with proteasome inhibitors like carfilzomib in patients with multiple myeloma (MM) can induce thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) characterized by neurological symptoms, acute kidney injury, hemolysis and thrombocytopenia.

Near-IR Phosphorescence of Iridium(III) Corroles at Ambient Temperature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The photophysical properties of Ir(III) corroles differ from those of phosphorescent porphyrin complexes, cyclometalated and polyimine Ir(III) compounds, and other luminescent metallocorroles.

From Mechanics to Electronics: Influence of ALD Interlayers on the Multiaxial Electro‐Mechanical Behavior of Metal–Oxide Bilayers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ultrathin AlOxHy interlayers between aluminum films and polymer substrates significantly improve electro‐mechanical properties of flexible thin film systems. By precisely controlling interlayer thickness using atomic layer deposition, this study identifies an optimal interlayer thickness of 5–10 nm that enhances ductility and delays cracking.

Blood profile of atrophic glossitis patients with thyroglobulin antibody/thyroid microsomal antibody positivity but without gastric parietal cell antibody positivity

open access: yesJournal of the Formosan Medical Association, 2019
Background/purpose: Our previous study found that 304 of 1064 atrophic glossitis (AG) patients have thyroglobulin antibody (TGA) positivity and/or thyroid microsomal antibody (TMA) positivity but without gastric parietal cell antibody positivity (GPCA ...

Retrospective and Systematic Analysis of Causes and Outcomes of Thrombotic Microangiopathies in Routine Clinical Practice: An 11-Year Study

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine, 2021
Background: Thrombotic microangiopathies (TMAs) are highly suspected in patients showing mechanical hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, and haptoglobin consumption. Primary [thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) and atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome]

Exciton‐Polaritons in Nanoscale Metal‐Organic Frameworks: A Platform for the Reversible Modulation of Strong Light‐Matter Coupling via the Chemical Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Strong exciton‐photon coupling is achieved by integrating porphyrin ligand‐based MOF nanoparticles in optical cavities, as evidenced by pronounced polariton branch anticrossing. The porous nature of the resonator enables precise, reversible tuning via vapor pressure, unlocking unprecedented chemical‐environment controlled dynamic polaritonic platforms ...

Anemia and hematinic deficiencies in gastric parietal cell antibody-positive and antibody-negative erosive oral lichen planus patients with thyroid antibody positivity

open access: yesJournal of the Formosan Medical Association, 2016
Serum gastric parietal cell antibody (GPCA), thyroglobulin antibody (TGA), and thyroid microsomal antibody (TMA) are found in some erosive oral lichen planus (EOLP) patients.
