Electrically Reconfigurable Optical Initialization of Spin Valley Polarization in Monolayer WS2 Enabled by Switchable Dual‐Mode Liquid Crystal Lasers

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents an electrically controllable approach to spin–valley polarization in monolayer WS2 by integrating it with a dual‐mode liquid crystal laser. Applying an external field triggers phase transitions that switch the laser emission between helicity‐defined band‐edge lasing and unpolarized random lasing.

Enhancing functionalities of atomically thin semiconductors with plasmonic nanostructures

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2019
Atomically thin, two-dimensional, transition-metal dichalcogenide (TMD) monolayers have recently emerged as a versatile platform for optoelectronics. Their appeal stems from a tunable direct bandgap in the visible and near-infrared regions, the ability ...

Harnessing Ultrafast Optical Pulses for 3D Microfabrication by Selective Tweezing and Immobilization of Colloidal Particles in an Integrated System

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2025.
Microfabrication using nano‐ to micron‐sized blocks has transformative potential for next‐gen electronics, optoelectronics, and materials. Traditional methods are limited by scalability and precision. STIC, a single‐laser system for precise colloid manipulation and immobilization using femtosecond lasers, is introduced that enables efficient 3D ...

Type‐II Dirac Fermions in Monolayer In2O: Interplay of Magnetotransport, Spin Hall Effect, and Superconductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
First‐principles calculations reveal that monolayer In2O${\rm In}_2{\rm O}$ hosts type‐II Dirac fermions near the Fermi level, which split into Weyl points under spin‐orbit coupling. The material exhibits negative and giant magnetoresistance, a pronounced spin Hall effect, and phonon‐mediated superconductivity at 1.5 K, establishing it as a unique ...

Alterations in Surface Electromyography Are Associated with Subjective Masticatory Muscle Pain

open access: yesPain Research and Management, 2019
Background. Tenderness of masseters and temporalis can be considered a relevant tool for diagnosis of myo-type craniofacial pain disorders, but a limit of pain score systems is that they are based on subjective pain perception.
