Covalent Functionalization of 2D Semiconductors: A Roadmap to Advanced Electronic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This Review presents recent advances in the covalent functionalization strategies for two‐dimensional semiconductors and their implementation in modern technologies. Layered materials are modified through diverse molecular chemistries (e.g., thiols, diazonium salts, alkyl halides, and electron‐deficient species) to tailor their surface properties ...

Hopping‐Mediated Zero‐Bias Photocharge Retention in Solution‐Processed Van Der Waals Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid–liquid interface assembly enables the fabrication of solution‐processed MoS2 and WSe2 centimeter‐scale, nanometer‐thick type‐II heterostructures on paper. Interfacial charge separation and hopping‐limited recombination produce rectification and persistent photocharge retention at zero bias.

Is the Course of Headache Complaints Related to the Course of Orofacial Pain and Disability in Patients Treated for Temporomandibular Pain? An Observational Study

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
Migraine, tension-type headache (TTH) and headaches attributed to temporomandibular disorders (TMD) are prevalent in patients with TMD-pain. The objective was to describe the course of headache complaints as compared to the course of TMD complaints in ...

Nonspecific orofacial symptoms as risk factors for first-onset TMD and chronic TMD [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Previous studies found the count of 6 nonspecific orofacial symptoms was one of the most important predictors of first-onset TMD. We further examined the influence of these symptoms (jaw siftness, cramping, fatigue, pressure, soreness, and ache) on first-

Nitride MXenes Beyond Carbides: Bridging the Gap Between Computational Prediction and Experimental Realization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nitride MXenes remain constrained by a persistent gap between computational prediction and experimental realization. This Review identifies the thermodynamic, kinetic, and chemical barriers limiting their synthesis, critically evaluates emerging fabrication routes, and proposes a multidimensional computational‐experimental framework to accelerate the ...

Dynamic Response of an Euler-Bernoulli Beam Coupled with a Tuned Mass Damper under Moving Load Excitation

open access: yesSakarya Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Dergisi, 2020
In this study, dynamic analysis of Euler-Bernoulli beam and Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) interaction problem under the effect of moving load was carried out by the mode superposition method.

Interocclusal appliance effect on clinical findings and disc location in internal derangement [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Orthodontics, 2006
Aim: Improvement of clinical signs like pain and mandibular movements' restriction with capturing the natural disc location are among the main purpose of occlusal appliance therapy for the patients affected by internal derangement.

Sub‐Nanometer Curvature Unlocks Quantum Orbital Flexoelectricity in Graphene

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In self‐assembled, reproducible, large‐area, quasi‐pristine graphene nanowrinkles, extreme curvature forces out‐of‐plane π‐electrons toward hybridization, driving a transition from classical to quantum orbital flexoelectricity. As curvature approaches the fundamental physical limit set by the C─C bond length, the resulting polarization increases by ...

A comparison between different optimization criteria for tuned mass dampers design [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Tuned mass sampers (TMDs) are widely used strategies for vibration control in many engineering applications, so that many TMD optimization criteria have been proposed till now.
