Identifying resistance‐conferring cytochrome P450s in weeds: experimental strategies and practical considerations

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Identifying resistance‐conferring cytochrome P450s requires integrating weed characterization, gene discovery and functional validation. No single approach is sufficient to distinguish causal resistance genes from herbicide‐metabolizing enzymes. Abstract Cytochrome P450 monooxygenases (P450s) play a pivotal role in metabolic herbicide resistance, yet ...

Hypersensitive reaction in Petunia . I. Protein changes in the intercellular fluid from P. axillaris cv. 'M' leaves inoculated with TMV.

open access: yes, 1987
International audienceThe hypersensitive reaction of Petunia axillaris cv. ‘M’ to TMV‐SM1 strain is accompanied by the production of 4 unusual proteins in the tissues around the necrotic local lesions. These proteins called d1, d2, d3 and d4, according to

Design, synthesis, antiviral bioactivities and interaction mechanisms of penta-1,4-diene-3-one oxime ether derivatives containing a quinazolin-4(3H)-one scaffold

open access: yesBMC Chemistry, 2019
Background penta-1,4-diene-3-one oxime ether and quinazolin-4(3H)-one derivatives possess favorable agricultural activities. Aiming to discover novel molecules with highly-efficient agricultural activities, a series of penta-1,4-diene-3-one oxime ether ...

Crystal structure of a four-layer aggregate of engineered TMV CP implies the importance of terminal residues for oligomer assembly. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Crystal structures of the tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) coat protein (CP) in its helical and disk conformations have previously been determined at the atomic level.

Single and dual RPA‐CRISPR/Cas assays for point‐of‐need detection of Stewart's wilt pathogen (Pantoea stewartii subsp. stewartii) of corn and Maize dwarf mosaic virus

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 1988-1999, April 2025.
Schematic diagram of the single and dual RPA‐CRISPR/Cas12a/13a diagnostic assays for the detection of Pantoea stewartii subsp. stewartii and Maize dwarf mosaic virus. The validated assays provide a useful and sensitive molecular tool for detecting two quarantine pathogens of maize within a minimal resource framework suitable for fast‐tracking the ...

TMV activate the PI3K/Akt pathway.

open access: yes, 2012
(A) TMV activated Akt in NEC. NEC were incubated with TMV (50 µg/ml) for the indicated time periods, and phosphorylated-Akt (p-Akt) and total-Akt (t-Akt) levels were determined in cell lysates by immunoblotting. Lower; Relative phosphorylated-Akt levels (

The cell biology of Tobacco mosaic virus replication and movement

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2013
Successful systemic infection of a plant by Tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) requires three processes that repeat over time: initial establishment and accumulation in invaded cells, intercellular movement and systemic transport.

Self‐Assembly of Hierarchically Structured Materials From Liquid Crystalline Mesophases of Tobacco Mosaic Virus‐Like Particles

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Recombinantly produced Tobacco Mosaic Virus coat protein (TMVcp) helical rods were demonstrated to reproducibly self‐assemble into hierarchically structured macroscopic filaments, driven by a lyotropic liquid crystal (LC) intermediate phase. The results indicate anisotropic molecular alignment of the fluid phase, retention of the native secondary ...

NEC take up TMV into cytoplasm depending on endocytosis.

open access: yes, 2012
(A) Fluorescent intensity of TMV-treated NEC were measured by flow cytometry. Before treatment, TMV were stained with PKH26 dye. A dashed histogram shows NEC treated with TMV for 1 hr and an open histogram shows NEC treated with TMV for 24 h.
