Invasive Colonic Entamoebiasis in Wild Cane Toads, Australia
We detected a disease syndrome in free-ranging Australian cane toads involving atypical behavior and emaciation that is associated with a previously undescribed Entamoeba sp. that infiltrates the colonic lining, causing it to slough.
