Enfermedad de Trevor en tobillo
Revista Venezolana de Cirugía Ortopédica y TraumatologíaIntroducción: La enfermedad de Trevor es un trastorno esquelético raro que causa un crecimiento óseo asimétrico en una o más epífisis. En Venezuela no existen casos publicados. Se desconoce su causa, pero se cree que podría deberse a anomalías en el flujo sanguíneo fetal. El diagnóstico se realiza mediante radiografías y resonancia magnética.

Presentamos un estudio retrospectivo de siete pacientes tratados con artroplastia total de tobillo en el período 1978-1988, realizando una revisión bibliográfica del tema. La serie la componen cinco hombres y dos mujeres con edades comprendidas entre 41 y 72 años.

This paper reports on a 32-year-old patient with closed luxation of the ankle. Management consisted of inmediate reduction and inmovilization in a short leg cast. A week later we applied a cat boot that we removed at the fifth week and, 2 months later, mobility and load were complete. Effort activities could be made at the 3.5 months.
