The Osmium Isotope Signature of Phanerozoic Large Igneous Provinces

open access: yesGeophysical Monograph Series, Page 229-246., 2021

Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact

An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

Enhanced Electron‐Capturing by Single‐Atomic Iron on Pyridinic N‐Deficient Carbon Drives Self‐Oxidative Degradation of Pollutants

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Pyrolysis of FeOx/g‐C3N4 and ZIF‐8 is performed to introduce Fe single atom and pyridinic nitrogen vacancies onto N‐doped carbon. This modification enables the materials to efficiently extract electrons from ciprofloxacin (CIP) and activate dissolved oxygen. 100% of CIP was degraded within 1 min without adding any oxidant.

Atomic‐Scale Structurally Locked 1T/2H‐MoS2/ZnS Z‐Scheme Heterojunctions for Prolonged Charge Kinetics and Dual‐Functional Photocatalysis

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Atomic‐scale structurally locked 1T/2H‐MoS2/ZnS direct Z‐scheme heterojunction enabling dual‐functional photocatalysis. The metallic 1T‐MoS2 phase serves as an electronic actuator that bridges charge transfer across the heterointerface, resulting in prolonged charge kinetics, efficient hydrogen evolution, and complete degradation of Malachite Green ...

Digital Rights Activism in Multilevel Governance

open access: yesEuropean Policy Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Multilevel governance (MLG) without a clear hierarchical structure can create power imbalances among various actors, particularly in settings with overlapping jurisdictions and policy areas. This dynamic is especially pronounced in Internet governance, which faces a complex interplay of domestic laws, state interdependence, and heightened ...

Pancreatic Cancer Early Detection Biomarkers for High‐Risk Individuals: Insights From the PRECEDE Consortium

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) remains one of the deadliest cancers due to its asymptomatic progression, late‐stage diagnosis, and treatment resistance. Efforts in early detection have centered on identifying imaging features and liquid biopsy biomarkers capable of detecting PDAC and its high‐grade precursors before clinical symptoms ...

Removal of pharmaceuticals from municipal wastewater using a powdered activated carbon‐supplemented moving bed membrane bioreactor

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Technology &Biotechnology, EarlyView.
Abstract BACKGROUND The new European Union Wastewater Directive 2024/3019 requires upgrading sewage treatment plants to achieve 80% removal of micropollutants. This study aimed to compare different Powdered Activated Carbon dosing strategies within a hybrid Moving Bed‐Membrane Bioreactor (PAC‐MB‐MBR) system, to evaluate its performance and to study the
