This chapter presents an account of drugs that play a role in strengthening or inhibiting uterine contraction, including tocolytics, vaginal therapeutics, and local contraceptives. These drugs include prostaglandins, oxytocin, ergot alkaloids, and β2-sympathicomimetics.
