Harnessing ferroptosis from multilayer defense networks to nanoplatforms for specific cancer therapy

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Nanomaterials target metabolically‐regulated ferroptosis for cancer therapy. Iron‐based or alternative nanoplatforms integrate ferroptosis with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or radiotherapy. They enable stimulus‐responsive therapies (photothermal, photodynamic, sonodynamic) activated by near‐infrared, light, or ultrasound, achieving potent synergistic ...

Metal‐Free Ligand‐Centered Radical Scavenging in Pyridine‐Modified Tetraaza Macrocycles

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Ligand‐centered hydrogen‐atom transfer in pyridinophane macrocycles generates delocalized radicals, with Py2N2 enabling cooperative captodative stabilization and enhanced DPPH• quenching. Pyridine‐modified tetraaza macrocycles are widely studied as ligand platforms for metal coordination, yet their intrinsic redox and radical reactivity in the absence ...

Altered gene expression in the liver and small intestine of horses with equine neuroaxonal dystrophy

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Equine neuroaxonal dystrophy/degenerative myeloencephalopathy (eNAD/EDM) is the second most common diagnosis of spinal ataxia in horses in the United States. The disease develops due to a combination of vitamin E deficiency and an unknown genetic risk factor(s), and there currently is no effective treatment.
