Formation of H2O2 in Near‐Neutral Zn‐air Batteries Enables Efficient Oxygen Evolution Reaction

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 137, Issue 5, January 27, 2025.
Rechargeable Zn‐air batteries with near‐neutral electrolytes show promise as cheap, safe and sustainable devices but face slow charge kinetics. This study reveals a charge storage mechanism mediated by H2O2 formation during discharge and oxidation during charge, influenced by electrolyte composition and electrode material.

A Vertical PRF Architecture for Microblog Search

open access: yes, 2018
In microblog retrieval, query expansion can be essential to obtain good search results due to the short size of queries and posts. Since information in microblogs is highly dynamic, an up-to-date index coupled with pseudo-relevance feedback (PRF) with an

Effect of Pelargonium graveolens essential oil and cyantraniliprole on the feeding behavior of Bemisia tabaci MED

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, Volume 172, Issue 9, Page 768-776, September 2024.
Bemisia tabaci MED (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) is an important pest of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum, Solanaceae). We assessed the effects of Pelargonium graveolens (Geraniaceae) essential oil (EO) and the insecticide cyantraniliprole on the feeding behavior of B. tabaci MED on tomato.

Improved efficacy of neonicotinoid in tablet formulation on the control of tomato chlorosis virus by controlling the vector Bemisia tabaci

open access: yesPhytopathology Research, 2020
Neonicotinoid insecticides are used for preventing insects from transmitting plant viruses. This group of chemicals are easily taken up by plants and translocated to different tissues and are applicable for soil treatment in sustained-release tablets ...

Enhanced Susceptibility to Tomato Chlorosis Virus (ToCV) in Hsp90 and Sgt1 Silenced Plants: Insights from Gene Expression Dynamics

open access: yes, 2023
The emerging whitefly-transmitted crinivirus Tomato chlorosis virus (ToCV) causes substantial economic losses by inducing yellow leaf disorder in tomato crops. This study explores potential resistance mechanisms by examining early-stage molecular responses to ToCV. A time-course transcriptome analysis compared naïve, mock and ToCV-infected plants at 2,

Insect–microbe interactions and their influence on organisms and ecosystems

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2024.
Insect‐symbiont interactions can have a variety of impacts on organisms and the ecosystem. These multitrophic interactions can result in differential attraction of beneficial insects or natural enemies. Additinoally, these interactions can influence plant and/or soil health as well as microbiome composition.

Viral complexity of tomatoes yellow mosaic and leaf curl diseases in lowland and highland areas

open access: yesJournal of Phytopathology, Volume 172, Issue 3, May/June 2024.
Abstract Yellow mosaic and leaf curl diseases caused by whitefly‐transmitted begomo virus genera are important problems in tomato (Solanum lycopersicon L.) production in Indonesia, particularly on Java Island. The aims of this survey are to assess the percentages of disease incidence (DI) and disease severity index (DSI), evaluate the spread and ...
