GeS as an Emerging OTS Material: Atomic Structure and Modeling of ON/OFF Switching

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The structural puzzle of glassy GeS, an advanced memory‐selector material, has finally been disentangled, revealing a patchwork of mixed tetrahedral and trigonal species. Under a high electric field, over‐ and under‐coordinated Ge and S defects, together with three‐membered rings, form an interconnected network associated with localized and extended ...

Configuration‐Encoded Cell Alignment by Light‐Gated Silicon Photovoltaic Microcell Arrays

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Light‐gated silicon photovoltaic microcells convert pulsed illumination into localized electrical cues. Arranging otherwise similar microcells into four‐lobed, six‐lobed, or circular patterns directs fibroblasts into corresponding local arrangements without wired stimulation.

Critical Coupling in Semi‐Trasparent Fano Resonators for Photothermal Converters

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An ultrathin metal–insulator multilayer architecture is engineered to exploit Fano‐resonant critical coupling, completely suppressing optical reflectance while achieving a balanced 50:50 trade‐off between absorbance and transmittance. Upon laser excitation at resonance, the metamaterial generates intense localized heat (ΔT≈550∘C$\Delta T {\approx }550^\

A Miniaturized Autonomous Thermomagnetic Generator

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Micro, autonomous and high power thermomagnetic generator operating between a heat dissipator and a processor. ABSTRACT Thermomagnetic generators (TMG) are promising devices for converting low‐grade waste heat into electricity. Self‐actuation using permanent magnets is the key to autonomy.

Switching Superconductivity with Uniaxial Strain in a high‐Tc${\rm T}_{c}$ Cuprate Superconductor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Uniaxial strain is demonstrated as a new scheme for a superconductivity switch. Exploiting the large strain‐induced Tc shift in a cuprate superconductor enables robust switching between superconducting and normal states over 100 cycles with only 0.1% strain.

Crypto Tokens and Token Systems [PDF]

open access: yesInformation Systems Frontiers, 2023
Cryptographic tokens are one of the cornerstones of the new blockchain world but the knowledge about these digital objects is still limited. In this research, we argue that crypto tokens, cryptographically secured digital tokens connected to DLT systems, form socio-technical systems through their reciprocal relationship with their foundational DLT ...

Are Fan Tokens Fan Tokens?

open access: yesFinance Research Letters, 2022
Fan tokens, digital assets providing privileges including rewards and promotions as well as voting rights in polls, recently became highly popular among the football clubs and the (fan) investors. Fan tokens differ from the stocks of football clubs with respect to ownership properties.

Tokens and Tokenization

2020
The authors have carried out an examination of the status of tokens and tokenization in financial markets with regulatory problems, which lack proposals for solutions based on a generalized consensus. Overall, it seems to authors that cutting the Gordian knot of tokenization and tokens is the essential need to achieve a consensual and efficient ...

Token Shifting on Graphs

International Journal of Computer Mathematics: Computer Systems Theory, 2021
We investigate a new variation of a token reconfiguration problem on graphs using the cyclic shift operation. A colored or labeled token is placed on each vertex of a given graph, and a “move” consists in choosing a cycle in the graph and shifting tokens by one position along its edges.
