Circular Bioeconomy for Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems: An Editorial Introduction

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, Volume 70, Issue 2, Page 277-283, April 2026.
ABSTRACT This special issue advances a multi‐scalar, empirically grounded understanding of circular bioeconomy transitions in agriculture and food systems by integrating systems‐level analyses with farm‐ and household‐level evidence from diverse developing and emerging economies.

Time‐Dependent Recovery of Gastric Emptying After Gastrectomy: A 12‐Month Longitudinal Study Using a 13C‐Acetate Breath Test With a Semi‐Solid Meal

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, Volume 10, Issue 2, Page 386-394, March 2026.
This study examined time‐dependent changes in gastric emptying after gastrectomy for gastric cancer using a 13C‐acetate breath test with a semi‐solid meal in 95 patients, revealing that gastric emptying was initially delayed at 1 month but significantly accelerated by 12 months postoperatively.

Transposable elements: Functional aspects and applications as drivers of crop innovation

open access: yesCrop Science, Volume 66, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
Abstract Transposable elements (TEs), which were once relegated to the status of genomic parasites, are today accepted as important agents of plant genome evolution and adaptation. This review integrates evidence pointing to their dual function as drivers of genetic diversity and instability, with a focus on their contribution to phenotypic innovation,

Anion Component Engineering of Spontaneous Perovskite Passivators for Energy Alignment Modulations in Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 16, 17 March 2026.
n‐Octylammonium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imides (OA‐FSI, OA‐TFSI, and OA‐PFSI), used as additives for spiro‐OMeTAD hole‐transport materials (HTMs) in perovskite solar cells (PSCs), allow spontaneous perovskite passivation during HTM deposition. Anion component engineering of the OA‐bis(fluorosulfonyl)imides effectively modulate energy alignment in PSCs via ...

Loading Non‐Maxwellian Velocity Distributions in Particle Simulations

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 131, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Numerical procedures for generating non‐Maxwellian velocity distributions in particle simulations are presented. First, Monte Carlo methods for the (r,q) $(r,q)$ distribution that generalizes flattop and Kappa distributions are discussed. Then, two rejection methods for the regularized Kappa distribution are presented, followed by a comparison

War and Peace: Ogawa Takemitsu's Theological Engagement with State and Religion

open access: yesJournal of Religious History, Volume 50, Issue 1, Page 56-76, March 2026.
The Manchurian Incident of 1931 marked a pivotal moment in the rise of Japanese fascism. During the period from this incident until the Pacific War's defeat, dissent from the state's control was not tolerated, leading to coercive measures in religious communities. The Christian community, rather than devising theological reasoning to resist the state's

Tumor Microenvironments in Malignant Ovarian Germ Cell Tumors: MHC Class I Loss and T‐Cell Exhaustion in Dysgerminoma

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 117, Issue 2, Page 566-575, February 2026.
Malignant ovarian germ cell tumor subtypes exhibit distinct tumor microenvironments. Dysgerminomas harbor abundant nonexhausted T cells, with progenitor exhausted T cells present in 60% of PD‐1–positive cases. However, MHC class I expression is lost across all analyzed subtypes, suggesting that restoring class I expression in dysgerminomas may enhance ...

From state commodification to local reproduction of vulnerability: ethnographic insights from a Risk Zone Urban Renewal Project in Turkey

open access: yesDisasters, Volume 50, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract This paper explores how vulnerability is not only defined by the state but also actively reshaped through policy implementation and lived experience. Drawing on ethnographic research in Eskişehir, Turkey, I propose an analytical distinction between the ‘commodification of vulnerability’—framing risk in technoscientific and moral terms to ...
