Rotating Liquid Marble Microreactors for Enhanced Enzymatic Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Dynamic magnetic liquid marbles (LMs), stabilized by hydrophobic magnetic proteinaceous colloidosomes, function as effective microreactors for enzymatic processes. Precise magnetic manipulation allows for the rotation of these LMs, enhancing the efficiency of the enzymatic cascade reaction both at the air/water interface and within biphasic enzyme ...

An Optoelectrically Switched, Dual‐Mode Neuromorphic Sensor for Transient and Accumulative Gas Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A transistor‐type carbon nanotube gas sensor with dual‐mode detection capability has been proposed. By simply adjusting the gate voltage and UV illumination, this sensor enables both real‐time detection and accumulation‐based sensing of toxic gases within a single device, providing a compact and adaptable platform for environmental monitoring ...

A Universal Biomimetic Approach for Making Artificial Antigen‐Presenting Cells for T Cell Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study shows a biomimetic silica microcapsule (SMC) fabrication method under mild conditions for making artificial antigen‐presenting cells (aAPCs). Inspired by marine biomineralization, peptide‐mediated biosilicification enables silica shell formation on emulsion templates. The resulting SMCs possess a core–shell structure, controlled fluorescence

PANI and Graphene/PANI Nanocomposite Films — Comparative Toluene Gas Sensing Behavior

open access: yesSensors, 2013
The present work discusses and compares the toluene sensing behavior of polyaniline (PANI) and graphene/polyaniline nanocomposite (C-PANI) films. The graphene–PANI ratio in the nanocomposite polymer film is optimized at 1:2.

Reversible Phase Transitions Enable Cyclic Isothermal CO2 Capture in Redox‐Activated Perovskite‐Structured Sorbents

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Perovskite‐structured SrMnO3 can cyclically and reversibly capture and release CO2 via redox‐enabled phase transitions at constant temperature. The efficacy of this novel redox‐activated CO2 sorbent is demonstrated via sorption‐enhanced steam methane reforming.

Substrate Engineering for Durable Omniphobic Liquid‐Like Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The significant yet less investigated role of substrates in determining the liquid‐repellency and mechanical durability of liquid‐like surfaces (LLSs) is explored. Thick and crack‐free sol–gel silica intermediary layers are developed that can smoothen substrate asperity roughness even at the micron scale, enabling omniphobic polydimethylsiloxane‐based ...

Endocytic Programming via Porous Silicon Nanoparticles Enhances TLR4 Nanoagonist Potency for Macrophage‐Mediated Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Porous silicon nanoparticles (PSiNPs) reprogram macrophage endocytosis of manganese@albumin‐based TLR4 nanoagonists, driving TRIF‐biased TLR4 signaling, eliciting robust proinflammatory responses, and potentiating macrophage‐mediated immunotherapeutic effects against NSCLC.
