Isolated Trees in a Fragmented Tropical Landscape: A View Through the Soil Seed Bank
Here, we investigated patterns of plant species diversity, abundance, and composition in the soil seed banks of cattle pastures, under fleshy‐fruited, and nonfleshy‐fruited trees within pastures, and in secondary forest patches at ten study sites in Brazil.

Abstract Drawing from status characteristics theory, we develop a multilevel model to explain the relationships between gender composition (e.g., female‐female supervisor‐subordinate dyads, a female majority at the next higher level, and a female majority at the same job level) in the workplace and women's career satisfaction.

Flagship species are used to promote conservation and tourism, but selecting species purely for prescribed appealing characteristics may overlook unique flagships or homogenise selections. A strategy of polling the public can more directly identify existing preferences for species for marketing.
