AbstractIn 2005 and 2006, a severe disease of lettuce and escarole, characterized by interveinal yellowing of the leaves, was observed in the Calabria region (Southern Italy). Samples collected were positive in RT‐PCR assay when specific primers for Crinivirus were used.
