Hot water epilepsy: Phenotype and single photon emission computed tomography observations

open access: yesAnnals of Indian Academy of Neurology, 2014
We studied the anatomical correlates of reflex hot water epilepsy (HWE) using multimodality investigations viz. magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), electroencephalography (EEG), and single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). Five men (mean age: 27.

Matrix-Completion Quantum State Tomography [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
The deployment of intermediate- and large-scale quantum devices necessitates the development of efficient full state tomographical techniques for quantum benchmarks. Here, we introduce a matrix filling-based method for tomography of pure quantum states, called the matrix-completion quantum state tomography.

Single-photon emission computed tomography of the normal liver [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Roentgenology, 1983
Single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) is a new imaging method that offers the advantage of cross-sectional imaging and improved contrast resolution as compared with conventional planar imaging. Preliminary SPECT studies of the liver for detection of metastatic disease are very promising.

Advances in Radiative Heat Transfer: Bridging Far‐Field Fundamentals and Emerging Near‐Field Innovations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review synthesizes the evolution of radiative heat transfer, emphasizing the transition from far‐field to near‐field regimes. Traditional frameworks, such as Planck's law, are revisited alongside modern innovations like fluctuational electrodynamics. Applications span nanoscale thermal management, energy harvesting, and thermophotovoltaic systems.

Highly Luminous Scintillating Nanocomposites Enable Ultrafast Time Coincidence Resolution for γ‐rays Detection with Heterostructured Multilayer Scintillators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A scintillating polymeric composites loaded with hafnia nanoparticles is engineered to obtain a highly luminous material, thus achieving a 400% improvement of the scintillation yield under soft X‐rays. The nanocomposite is employed to realize a multilayer heterostructured prototype scintillator than enable for ultrafast time coincidence resolution in ...

Selective and Efficient Quantum State Tomography and its Application to Quantum Process Tomography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We present a method for quantum state tomography that enables the efficient estimation, with fixed precision, of any of the matrix elements of the density matrix of a state, provided that the states from the basis in which the matrix is written can be efficiently prepared in a controlled manner.

Ultra‐Effective Light‐Activated Antibacterial Activity via Carboxyl Functionalized Graphene Quantum Dots and Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Carboxyl‐functionalized graphene quantum dots (cGQDs) exhibit high singlet oxygen quantum yield due to strong spin–orbit coupling. cGQDs achieve minimum bactericidal concentration of only 0.4 µg mL−1 against S. aureus under low‐intensity illumination.
